McCain Assures Incoming GOP Senators Won’t Be More Ted Cruz Types

Senators John McCain and Ted Cruz don’t exactly have the best relationship. Cruz has said Republicans like McCain are why their party doesn’t do better, and McCain has not been shy about publicly dumping on Cruz, especially during last year’s government shutdown.

And in a new interview with Salon today, McCain wanted to make it clear that the incoming crop of Republicans that will give their party control of the Senate will not be Cruzes. McCain even claimed that a lot of the GOP Senate candidates who won are in the same mold as himself and Lindsey Graham.

A false friend is far worse than a declared enemy.
McCain is a false friend for conservatives, and the GOP for that matter.
John McCain might as well be Harry Reid.

You will be shocked at how conservative McCain makes himself look in Az during election time. The only thing worse is how dumb two-thirds of the Az voters are that vote for him. Welcome to Az FReeper. We need all we can get here.

Thanks!

Keep in mind though, I cam from the SF bay area, so McCain is a far right extremist compared to what I have seen.

More important than the red meat clip in which McCain doesn't mention Cruz, is this from the Salon interview:

When the Democrats enacted the so-called nuclear option, many Republicans in the Senate were furious and vowed to enact revenge if and when they retook the majority. But it sounds like you don’t expect any kind of retaliation and/or escalation to happen.

No, but what I think we must do is reverse [the nuclear option] … I was especially bitter because I worked to avoid it on at least two occasions where we were able to do so; once when the Republicans were trying to do it, and once when the Democrats were trying to do it …

So we’re going to reverse it; I will insist on it, I will filibuster to make sure that we reverse it, because we’ve got to restore the Senate to what it’s supposed to be … a place where people can take up legislation, amend and debate. As inefficient as all that is, it’s what the Senate was designed to do.

McCain was one reason the vote for GOP was so difficult this round. With two clothes pins, they did get the vote, only due to the fact that the choices were teach them a lesson or attempt to save a Nation. After this bit of theatrics, that choice is somewhat regrettable. Well, he didn’t get my vote in the presidential election. Governor Palin did, and mccain was just along for the ride. To the vets out there...thank you for your service, your bravery, and your devotion to our country. God bless you all

The polls all show UKIP with a ten point plus lead and immigration is at the top of the list of issues.

The average person is for UKIP while the business types and rich elites say Cameron will negotiate a better deal with the EU.

Farage remains crystal clear on UKIP’s plan-get out of the EU.
