I read somewhere that Joe pounced on a day when Rose wasn’t home and that poor Rosemary had an idea of what was going to happen to her and was taken from the house screaming. It must have terrified the other girls. Oddly enough, according to actress Gloria Swanson, one of the reasons why she ended her relationship with Joe Kennedy was her discomfort about his attitude towards Rosemary.

There is little that Joe could do which surprise me. He was one of the richest men in America. You would think at the very least he could afford to hire some chaperones and bodyguards to protect Rosemary from being taken advantage of.

Gloria Swanson should have had the good sense not get involved with a married man to begin with. I believe Gloria, too, was married at the time she began her affair with Joe, making it doubly immoral and repulsive.

I grew up in a dem family that idolized the Kennedys...and it started with the handsome John F Kennedy...

being a democrat in family was more of a branding issue. When I asked my parents why we were democrats, they stated because democrats are kind and they believe in helping people.

for my mother I am certain it was due to his good looks.

I have since learned just how much of a creep the father was... and how the press covered up for all the mis-deeds of this family..

all because of the handsome Jack... sounds like someone we know.
