Rep. Matt Salmon of Arizona is pushing his Republican colleagues to try to block the president from using executive action on immigration, but his plan is likely to hit strong resistance from House leaders.
The federal government is currently funded through a continuing resolution that runs out at midnight on December 11. Salmon, echoing similar calls from Republican senators Jeff Sessions of Alabama and Mike Lee of Utah, proposes that Congress pass a bill that would fund the government until early next year. If the president moves ahead with his executive amnesty, the expiring continuing resolution would give Republicans an opportunity to block funding for the president's action after both houses of Congress are under Republicans control.
But that plan has a tough road ahead. Republican leadership in the House is eager to pass a spending bill through the 2015 fiscal year before the start of the new Congress.

Actually, House RINOs are trying to figure out how to APPEAR to oppose amnesty. They have no intention of stopping it or doing anything more than harrumphing around “Deploring” the POTUS’ action.
I have a feeling that his Executive Order is going to be based on his right to grant Presidential Pardons.

I’m not sure that I’ve read how the POTUS uses executive orders on immigration. Have no earthly idea if he would do that...use his pardon powers...seems like that would lead to a very ugly next two years.
Uglier I should say.
Some are already nervous about it, because they know the liberal Republicans will be... well.... liberal.

That would be a great slam. Write them, tell them of your ideas to be included in the omnibus. This is how politics should be played.
How would punish the Ebollahtollah for the diseases are being spread from the invaders from Central America in this omnibus bill? Or are taxpayers doomed to pay for it ourselves?

The leaders of this Congress, and the next will act on immigration reform—in favor of amnesty.
I am certain the scheming is already taking place behind the scenes—the leadership of both parties want only amnesty and will use various procedural schemes (reconciliation) to make certain that reform will only be amnesty.
Got it peons?
No they're not.
That list needs to be posted the nanosecond the GOP caves so Freepers and lurkers know who backed the frauds and helped suppress conservatives getting votes.
And catch all kinds of crap here on FR for that position.

They will forestall any action by conservatives by saying they will sue Obama instead. Which they won’t.
Well that will be the second time that happened. Guess the frauds are keeping their powder so dry it can’t burn.
The Republicans better get their feces organized in linear fashion... quick.
Bingo.
Hope they do. Not going to be disappointed when they keep their promise to pass amnesty though.
Disappointed in their anti American liberalism that finished the country, yea.. But they will be keeping their word for perhaps the first time in a generation so I guess that’s a start to rally around no matter what in the name of party unity.../s
If he tries to usurp the function of a coequal branch of government?
Impeach him, that’s right. Jam a stick in the spokes of his Mom bike.
It will keep him busy and the critters won’t be doing anything else for two years anyway, by force of habit, until they come to us again, hats-in-hand, pretending to be conservatives and asking for money, support and votes.
So, yeah, if he calls—pull the trigger.
Sure, we know what you `One Note Johnny’ shrinking violets are thinking: “He won’t be removed!”
Who cares. Impeach him anyway.
I'm giving them a chance to hold their liberal republicans 'feet to the fire'
They get pissy when you point out that they have no leverage now that the liberal republicans are re-elected, nose holding and all.

The right thing to do is have the Capitol Police to arrest his mulatto muslim ass when he does his state of the union show in January.
The Capitol Police have exclusive jurisdiction within the United States Capitol Grounds even when the pResident is there. Have the Sergent at Arms draft charges, and when Bath House Barry shows up and enters the House Chamber, have the police grab him and throw him in irons. He can be held in the capitol jail. You do it LIVE on national television before the speech. For the speech, is a reading of the charges against Barry and perp walk him to the jail cells in the basement of the capitol building.
God ...that would be fun !!!
You know that, and I know that, but our Repub congress critters have a habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
This allows them to be the weasels they desire to be while inflicting pain upon the enemy.
Just think of it, a Repub asking a Dem if they are racist against the Indian engineer that has been waiting for 6 years to get his citizenship. Why is it that only hispanics are being granted amnesty?
I’d like to see Congress mess with Obama. Let’s pass a bill raising the minimum wage (it’s slightly harmful to entry-level workers, but taking the issue off the table might almost balance that harm) but include (1) a prohibition on any expenditure of funds for any variant of Amnesty, and (2) the repeal of all National Firearms Act restrictions on silencers.
When Obama vetoes that, pair a similar minimum wage increase with (1) the repeal of anti-coal regulations, and (2) full repeal of Obamacare in the same bill.
Follow that up with a minimum wage increase paired with (1) a ban on federal, state, and local laws and regulations that require abortion and/or birth control as part of medical insurance, or penalize the absence of such coverages, and (2) allow FFL holders to destroy firearm purchase records after 90 days while requiring government agencies to destroy all records over 90 days old every 90 days.
It would be fun to see just how many times Obama would happily veto a minimum wage increase in order to keep a stranglehold on our freedom.
