BOCA RATON, Fla. - Ruby Graupera-Cassimiro had gone 45 minutes without a pulse when doctors called her family into the operating room and told them there was nothing more they could do.
A team of more than a dozen doctors and nurses had been working desperately to revive her. But now they'd lost hope that the 40-year-old Deerfield Beach woman, whose heart had given out without warning after a routine C-section at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, was going to make it.
Devastated, Graupera-Cassimiro's husband, mother and sister said goodbye to her just hours after they'd welcomed a healthy baby girl. The medical team stopped all lifesaving procedures. They watched a heart monitor, preparing to record a time of death.
And then the impossible happened: A blip of a heartbeat showed up. Then another, and another.

I read a shorter article from a sidebar link on ABC news this afternoon to an AP story. The story was short and to the point and sparse details. At the end they wrote that the woman was not accepting phone calls.
I KNEW God was in this story somewhere so googled her name to see if I could find the same story with more details. And find it I did! Praise God! Made my day. Off the top of my head I remember reading from credible sources about two others seemingly spontaneously brought back to life and heartfelt prayer was the common feature in each.; I know there are more, and I know there are lots of NDE stories on youtube, but as heartwarming as some art, they are less credible because there is no corroberation. IOW you have to take the person's word for it.
ANOTHER MIRACLE.....Praise be to GOD!!
not accepting phone calls
lol
Florida Woman Survives 45 minutes with no Pulse
Here's the exact quote about contacting her: "Graupera-Cassimiro did not return a phone message left by The Associated Press on Sunday."
Poor woman probably had to quit taking calls from the press.
I made a couple boo boo's in my original comment; I'm sure I will be forgiven lol.
Absolutely MIRACULOUS story..to go that long without any oxygen and not have brain damage..the true meaning of a miracle!!
Hmmmmm. Don't get me wrong: I like a good miracle as well as anyone. But that might have had something to do with it.
“In the next few hours, Graupera-Cassimiro said, she remembered something she thought had been a dream: what she described as an encounter with the spirit of her late father, who told her it wasn’t her time. It dawned on her that it may not have been a dream.”
Whoa!
The Lord will take us when he is ready to do so. He was not finished with this woman yet.
Well, that plus the fact that these days with so many Democrat voters it’s pretty obvious that “brain damaged is the new normal”.
So from now on, 45 minutes won’t be enough.
I have some rescue diver training and have studied cold water drowning. This is a phenominal time even for that.
Mr. R: Point well taken and I'm sure the CPR probably helped avoid brain damage but it seems like they had given up. It says somewhere that it was spontaneous when the monitor started to blip.
I just thought it was funny that the fact she stopped taking phone calls was so important
Good for her. I have a pulse but my wife swears I’ve been brain dead since the day she married me. LOL!
ping. Thought you would find it heartwarming.
Some months back I posted a story with a different outcome but the presence of God was felt.
The father of a local attorney was in the hospital with a terminal illness and severe dementia. Doctors gave the man days to live. Despite the attorney/son’s lack of faith he called a priest to give last rites to his father because he knew his father would have wanted it.
The next day the son went to the hospital to sit with his father and found him fully lucid and pain free for the first time in months. They spent the day talking about things his father hadn’t remembered for years. That night the father died peacefully in his sleep.
Same here. Longest I ever heard was 60 minutes.Pulled a kid out after 15. He recovered.
FYI for people, usually brain damage sets in after six minutes.
Must go to the link to read the whole story. Merciful heavens!
45 min without oxygen...
What was the old ‘record’?
