I’ll say it again, Pennsylvania is a VERY “red” state; the problem is overwhelming numbers of Philadelphia gibsmedats and suburban-Philadelphia nanny-staters. It’s going to take a lot of Whole Foods types having a Chris Matthews moment over the next couple of years for that to change.

I would say that my home county (Allegheny) is also a pretty significant part of the problem. In addition tot he gibsmedats, we have a whole lot of older people who really should be voting Republican. They don’t because they were always taught that “Democrats are the party of the working people,” and “Union members should vote Democrat,” and assorted crap like that. They fail to realize that the Dems they vote for today are not Dems like Truman and Kennedy (who I honestly believe would fit more into the Republican party today, albeit probably as RINO’s), but rather loony moonbat lefties.
