There is concern firebrands may alienate Latino voters.
With President Barack Obama vowing to press ahead on immigration, prominent Hispanic Republicans are worried about the reaction of staunch conservatives. They fear it will harm the party's ability to win over Latinos in the next presidential election and beyond.
While immigration was generally a muted issue in midterm elections dominated by the GOP, Obama promised the next day to move ahead on his own to remove the threat of deportation or grant work permits to an unspecified number of immigrants living here illegally.

Don’t read Paul Ryans own words. Just stand there screaming like a liberal.
They are finally in charge and already they are AFRAID. Freaking wimps. Everyone of the stinking RINOs are cowards. Jeff Sessions and a hand full of conservatives cannot control the RINOs. Jeff is my Senator. I wish to heck we had 99 more like him instead of 99 that we got.
the liberal media has a lot of freepers brainwashed making them think the GOP wants amnesty
Republicans have stopped Amnesty since 1994
Clinton, Bush and Obama have pushed for Amnesty . but it has only been the Republican House that has stopped that amnesty every year Republicans held a majority in the House or all the time since 1994, the last 20 years.
but many here and else where keep saying that Republicans want amnesty . but if they did then why haven't they passed Amnesty.
however they ignore that Obama is about to unconstitutionally grant amnesty to illegals on his own which is illegal. that is ok by them but oh that Republicans might think of wanting amnesty oh off with their heads but you Obama go ahead and be a dictator and violate the law and constitution by giving amnesty to illegals.
Hispanics make up 10% of eligible voters and 8.5% of votes cast in 2012.
Non-hispanic Whites made up 72% of eligible voters and 74% of votes cast in 2012.
Tell me again why the Citizens of the USA and member of the Republican Party MUST pander to Hispanics and encourage the violation of law and the destruction of the rule of law in order to capture the Hispanic vote?
Hell, in Texas 44% voted for the Republican Governor. Of course he leans toward Amnesty, but at least 25% of the Hispanic Vote is anti-Illegal.
Folks need to start calling these "Republicans" LIARS. They are not seeking the favor of the Hispanic Voters.
They are seeking the favor of the US Chamber of Commerce.
Confront them and call them LIARS at every opportunity.

Abbott got 50% of male Hispanic vote. A lot of Hispanics came here legally and/or have been here for generations and don’t want amnesty. The rest of them probably would vote Dem no matter what because of the freebies promised.

It is Obama that is about to pass Amnesty on his own with an executive order ,which is illegal but he'll do it anyway
if Republicans wanted amnesty so much as you say whey then haven't they passed it in 20 years, even going against their own president Bush ‘s wishes?
This is the hill we must be prepared to die on. If we do not stand with Sen. Sessions and the others we are lost as a nation.
Useless children.
Good, a fight with Obama is just what needs to happen. Wake-up you weak kneed Republicans.
THANK YOU!!! You seem to be the ONLY ADULT here!
The last amnesty push was GWB's in Spring 2007. The Dems controlled both houses. Pelosi had a Dem majority, but couldn't get amnesty over the top without some Republican votes. The GOP leadership in the House couldn't even deliver to Pelosi the relatively small number of votes she needed.
Today there are far fewer Dems in the House, and today's Republicans are by and large more conservative than those in 2007. Boner and Ryan are dreaming if they think they'll easily get enough votes in the House for amnesty.
The liberal republican leadership has earned the reputation that it has earned. They have used their chances.
An adult recognizes that the republican leadership, especially in the senate, has supported the liberal agenda (especially with cloture votes).
There will be plenty of "told you so" when they finally cave on Amnesty.

do you all even know that Obama is about to act like a dictator and pass amnesty on his own (before the end of 2014)?
Yeah....we’ll see.....I’ll be the FIRST to apologize......AFTER I read my rep. the RIOT ACT!!
Bull droppings.. rino leadership still fears him.
.
You’re living in the past.
