President Obama on Wednesday acknowledged that Republicans had "obviously" had a good midterm election, but expressed confidence that voters still support his ideas.
In his first public comments since his party's thumping in the midterms, Obama said he believed the message sent by voters was similar to the one they've sent in the last few elections: Voters want Washington to get things done.
But the president hailed his handling of the economy, suggested he's going full steam ahead with plans to take executive action on immigration and made a point of noting that two-thirds of voters didn't take part in the midterms a swipe at any GOP suggestions that the election gave their party a mandate. Obviously, Republicans had a good night, and they deserve credit for running good campaigns, said Obama, who pledged to work with congressional Republicans over the next two years.
What stands out to me though is the American people sent a message. One that theyve sent for several elections now," Obama said. "They expect the people they elect to work as hard as they do. They expect us to focus on their ambitions and not ours. They want us to get the job done.
"Still, as president I have a unique responsibility to make this town work," Obama said. "So, to all of those that voted, I hear you. To the two-thirds of voters that chose not to participate in the process yesterday, I hear you, too."

Yeah, Obama is still the SHBOTU.
We do get it.
Hail, Barry!
That’s right, skippy. You’ve been slapped you narcissistic Mussolini wanna-be.
Custer also said a few Indians won’t do us any harm.
Captain Obvious.
Or is it Captain Oblivious?
What did those non-voters say Barfy?
We have already made it quite clear where we stand on executive actions. Pretty sure that hasn’t changed now that we’re positioned to impeach.
They said “You so disgust me Mr. President that I decided not to vote.”
He’s in denial.
“So, Carrie - how was the Prom?”
I think he’s gone from denial to delusional-someone needs to send for the guys in the white van with the tranq darts......
He is totally disconnected. As if people who he claimed did not vote, somehow support him. His approval rating is a pathetic 30-40% for crying out loud.
I wish that would happen!
If you don’t vote, you forefit your right tot complain.
Wow, this guy is SHARP! See how, with so little information at his fingertips, he just put the dots together and came up with probably the most sage observation of the year, maybe the decade! Just, DAMN!
Maybe this guy could also be used to advise the rest of us on a whole host of other issues? I could see for instance:
1) Military advice: 'Obviously, those Japs had a good morning at Pearl Harbor';
2) More military advice: 'Obviously, those Germans in Dresden were quite toasty that night of the air raid'
3) Cultural observations: 'Obviously, those Arabs on 9/11 were pretty ticked off at the United States.'
4) Beauty tips: 'Obviously, Nancy Pelosi's plastic surgeon was drunk off his ass the night before her surgery' and
5) Self-analysis: 'Obviously, I'm the most narcissistic, childish jackass ever to inhabit the White House, this night or any other'

To quote the great philosopher, Col. Bugs Bunny, "What a marroon!"
That would be gratifying, but it isn’t likely even if he has a major emotional meltdown-but after he is out, I can see him living a semi-reclusive lifestyle in Hawaii in a couple of years, only being seen on golf courses-if Michelle is smart, she’ll dump him and grab as much $$$ as she can right away.
