Republicans picked up another Senate seat Wednesday.
Dan Sullivan led Sen. Mark Begich, D-Alaska, by more than 8,000 votes with 100 percent reporting, according to Associated Press data.
The outcome obliterated any last hope among Democrats for a silver lining to Tuesday's Republican wave, and capped a banner Election Day for the GOP.

Establishment guys just want Republicans to win and stay there. They dont mind conservatives in red states but it really bothers them when they see someone with no experience lose a critical purple state because of a political mistake.
B.S.
The GOP-E has fundamental differences with respect to policy with Tea-Party candidates. That is why they fight them so hard.
Add to that that the GOP-E gets most of it's campaign cash from Chamber of Commerce types and they are beholden to them and you can see why they push for Amnesty even though the majority of their party don't want it.
What a load of hog-wash.

No so sure about VA. But that was never on the radar. NH was a pipe dream as well.
But we’re 8-0 in the races that were considered toss-ups. That’s pretty amazing considering the last two Senate election cycles, which were abysmal for the GOP (even the one in 2010, in which the House picked up 63 seats).
If, as expected, LA goes GOP in the runoff, we’ll be 9-0 in the toss-ups. And some of them were much more decisive than polls indicated. That’s astounding.

Are you a product of common core math? I'll explain it to you.
The Republican has an 8,000 vote lead.
The democrat if he gets 14,000 more votes out of the 20,000 uncounted votes ,the Republican gets the remaining 6,000 votes added on to his 8,000 vote lead = 14,000 votes .
That would have them dead even.
Begich has a tough row to hoe here, as picking up enough votes to be competitive would mean getting 70% of the uncounted 20,000 votes. -tom

Not to toot my own horn, but I called 10 seats on FR earlier...but, if we can get VA, I think you will be right on! Need to know how VA looks as far as a pickup

I just didn’t feel like anything revolutionary is going to happen.
I felt it was a valid reason for me not to vote.

“Revolutionary” things can’t happen if we don’t even try. Well, I hope you can see that you were wrong.
I have enjoyed your posts for years....I was very disappointed in you yesterday.

Begich has northern MN roots (father).
He's probably checking with the Franken campaign to see how many abandoned car trunks full of ballots might be needed.

Angus King had one of the most Leftist records of any in the senate. However, McConnell might want to woo some of these weathervane, sell-out types to protect his position, punish his enemies and pick and choose the legislation that his puppet-masters (donors) really want.
So, if a fascist corporate interest wants open borders or a trade agreement that puts multi-national monopolistic interests over small business free-market interests, McConnell will be able to oblige them by recruiting a few patsies.
These sort of moves obfuscates and dilutes the efforts of real conservatives like Ted Cruz.

Yes, it was hard dealing with the negative people on FR this election!
All they talked about was fraud, and 2012, as if 2010 never happened!

I doubt he is any more liberal than Collins, or Linda Graham/McCain.
All it does is put the senate a little farther out of Reid’s reach in 2016.
