Voters demanded change from Washington on Tuesday, and Republicans say its now up to President Barack Obama to deliver it.
But dont count on that happening.
The White House that emerges after the midterm elections wont look, act or sound drastically different than the one battered for months by Republicans and abandoned by Democrats desperate to hang onto power. The president will seek some common ground with Republicans, but there are limits to how far Obama wants to go and Senate Democrats will let him go.
Despite losing the Senate, Obama doesnt think too much should be read into election results from a handful of states that never approved of his job performance in the first place. Obama acknowledges that he needs to do better, and he will make modest adjustments to his staffing, messaging and legislative strategy in response. But he wont pivot to the right, as he did after his self-proclaimed shellacking in 2010, White House officials said in interviews this week.
Obama will strike a tone of compromise and accountability during his public remarks Wednesday, promising to work with Republicans who are interested in working with him. Hes gone almost two years without a major legislative achievement, leaving him very willing to start cutting deals, a senior administration official said, possibly on trade, corporate taxes and patent reform. Still, this posture isnt much different than the one hes projected for years.
At the same time, Obama wont back down from using his administrative powers, including plans to issue an executive order on immigration that could be the most aggressive unilateral action of his presidency.

Ted Cruz’s response should be - We won.
Obama will try to pass Amnesty anytime now. It was always his goal to do it after he became a lame duck and the mid terms by Executive Action because he can’t pass it through congress.
CNN of all places, last night, had a intense debate about it. They were discussing if he should try to anger republicans so soon after a shellacking when he has to work with them now. I wouldn’t put it past Obama to do it.

He “pivoted to the right” after the 2010 midterms? I guess I missed that????
On CNN Ted Cruz wouldn’t commit to supporting McConnell for senate majority leader.
If Obama does Amnesty by Executive fiat then I suspect the Impeachment talk will heat up as that would be the final straw.
My prediction: Obama is going to check out for the remaining two years, a la Eisenhower. He’s going to spend his time on the golf course while the country and the world goes to hell in a hand basket. I doubt he will do much to help any Rats in 2016, since they all ran from him this election.
I must have been asleep -- did I miss this? I don't recall any "pivot to the right" by this clown.
President Biden. Uh no.
He pivoted to the right after the 2010 shellacking ?
Logged on to Yahoo to check my email this morning and their lead story is “This is really a win for Hillary Clinton!!!” No kidding. I have to change my email provider.
Then respond by going "Full Eisenhower" on illegal aliens and their employers
Operation Wetback
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Operation Wetback was an immigration law enforcement initiative created by Director of the Immigration and Naturalization Service Joseph Swing.
The program was implemented in May of 1954 by the U.S. Attorney General Herbert Brownell, and utilized special tactics to combat the problem of illegal border crossing and residence in the United States by Mexican nationals.
Ultimately, the program came as a result of pressure from the Mexican government to stop illegal entry of Mexican laborers in the United States based largely on the Bracero Program.
This is America’s first “F*** YOU” Presidency.
Obama? The guy is stalled at the psychological age of 14, and I couldn’t agree more. I’ve read that BO admitted to using drugs at an early age, e.g. teenager and when I was working psych with teenagers, it was a given that a person who uses a lot of drugs do stop growing emotionally when the drugs were at the highest. I’ve seen it in adult drug abuse...many do have the emotions of a young teenager and sometimes younger.
Let’s start with repealing the Obama-care tax on “medical devices”, like wheelchairs and pace-makers...
Let’s then allow citizens to buy health insurance that does not REQUIRE them to “buy coverage” they don’t want — just because the government wants to “enlarge the pool of insureds”.
And let’s allow citizens to “shop” for their own health insurance — across state lines.
Humility is not a virtue people associate with him.””
No psychopath has any semblance of humility.
There’s another consideration. Any good done in the next 2 years will go down in history as happening “under the Obama administration.” Remember how Bill Clinton got all the credit for the Republican Congress’ economic reforms during his last years?
It may be best to make Obama as ineffective as possible over the next two years, and save the most popular bills for the next conservative President to sign into effect. Meanwhile, if we KNOW Obama will veto some popular bills, make sure they get to his desk, and use his veto as political fodder in 2016.
Totally agree; Cruz is in the backseat with Gomert and that other guy I can’t recall his name...we have McConnell and Boehner to look to for such witnesses and lawsuits...I sure hope they step up. No, I’m not naive, just wish they would.
Impeach Obama Arrest Holder, Puglosi and Reid. Do it NOW. Failure to act the republicans will go down in 2016. Mark this if the Repubs do nothing they will lose the support of everyone. Obama needs to go. ObamaCare Defund it, End it Now
Mr. President, elections have consequences
