In France, I was standing there doing my thing and noticed a woman passing behind me on her way to the stools. Noticed then that the restroom had two, side by side entrance doors. Going back outside, I found that one door said Hommes and the other said Femmes. Viva La France!

I was at a John Cougar concert years ago in San Fran.

Intermission. I’m next in 10 deep line to use urinal. Lady walks up to me, taps my shoulder, “Can I cut, I have to go, badly!”

(20 something, all of 110lbs)

“Um, sure.”

She drops her pants to her ankles, turns around, backs into the urinal and goes. Mind you five plus rows of men, ten deep watching.

I was 20 at the time. I’m sorry to say that I didn’t particularly object to sharing a restroom with the opposite sex that day.

'Duck Dynasty's' Alan Robertson: Teach Bible in Public Schools
Monday, 03 Nov 2014 | By Jason Devaney

Alan Robertson, son of Phil Robertson of the TV show "Duck Dynasty," said in a recent interview that the Bible should be taught in the public school system.

Speaking to CNS News, Alan Robertson — the oldest son in the family — said it's only fair to reintroduce the Bible to the curriculum, especially given the fact that the theory of evolution is taught to students across the country.

"I think it should be [taught in the schools], I think the creation narrative, certainly, even if you just looked at it as a theory or whatever you want to do," Robertson said.

"To put evolution there, which is a theory, by the way, can be taught as the ultimate truth, then you can't look at any other possibility? What kind of discipline is that in terms of education? If we went that route, we'd have never taught some of the things now we know to be true that 50 years ago we didn't even know about."

[Video at link in headline above.]

"If you read some of the founders' thoughts on it, their idea was that government and what we're trying to enact in laws will not work unless people are also understanding the Bible and what God says is right and wrong," Robertson said.

"Several have been quoted, our founders said it won't work, because if people lose the connection to that [God and Bible], why would they care about the laws?

"In other words, the people can't be rightly governed without some understanding of God's truth and His word. Well, that alone should be a reason to teach it."

Robertson added that the Bible used to be part of the public school curriculum. [A] Wall Street Journal report noted that the Supreme Court ruled in 1964 that "the Bible is worthy of study for its literary and historic qualities. Nothing we have said here indicates that such study of the Bible or of religion, when presented objectively as a part of a secular [public school] program of education, may not be effected consistently with the First Amendment."

"It was the gold standard of what was taught alongside other academic pursuits," said Robertson, whose family just released the Faith and Family Bible .” [Excellent 13-minute video at preceding link. Halfway through, he discusses the power of praying together in the family.]

"You go back and look at the history of all of our major universities, including all the Ivy League schools, which are basically founded by preachers and all these spiritual heavyweights of their generation. They saw it as going right alongside [other academic subjects].

"Now, I understand the modern argument of, well, what about other religions, what about this — teach about all of it. I believe the Bible will always come out as the standard it should be. But all these things should be talked about instead of just shunned. In the public education awareness, it's almost like it almost doesn't exist.

"I think it's a little disingenuous, some of the reasons why God has been exorcised out of the public square," Robertson added. "Supposedly, it's been because that's what the founders intended. But all you have to do is go back and look at what was practiced and know that's not true at all."

I can understand if it is an emergency and it is given with consent. But this law is COERCION.

In principle, I HATE being coerced.

Notice that in most countries in Europe, public restrooms are not for free. You PAY to go, and there is usually someone at the door to collect the money ( of both genders ).

Phil and the rest of you men, when you’re taking a leak, you can be sure I won’t be walking in to take a peek.

Did Joel Osteen show up? I guess it’s unlikely if there’s no money to be made.

I disagree with him.

"Public" (government) schools should not exist.

Then why do most retail businesses still feature separate male-female facilities?

My son and I took a trip to visit my husband when he was working out of state ( a few years back) - Even though my son was 15, it seemed like he was in the men’s room forever! I was the creepy woman standing outside the door looking over every man who left in case I needed to make an ID! I was just about to ask a stranger to check on him when he came out. It was busy - he was taught to wash up afterwards..... so I was just one of those crazy Moms!

A uni-sex restroom is one that that accommodates more than one person at a time. They exist, and have doors on the stalls. It’s not like you and others would be sitting on a bunch of toilets in one room with no walls around them.

Don’t know that it makes much difference.

Because the general public is as stuck up as Roberson about it. Why they are is a different question that I don’t have the answer to. It’s not a battle I would choose to fight.

That time is already here. It won’t be long before Christians begin losing their jobs if they even hint at not condoning homosexuality. Like if an employer sees on Facebook that you share a blog against homosexual marriage, you will face termination.

http://reason.com/archives/2014/04/11/gender-neutral-bathrooms-building-codes

Gender segregated bathrooms are a fairly recent development and are required by codes and laws.

“By the 1920s, most states had passed similar laws. That all seems relatively fine, but the problem happened when the government went beyond merely mandating that employers give all employees a place to do their business to specifying exactly how and in what ratios this must occur, in and out of the workplace.”

Kind of like prohibition that hasn't been repealed yet. Probably influenced by religion just like prohibition was.
