Romney: A GOP Senate to pass immigration, trade
Politico ^ | 11/2/14 | JONATHAN TOPAZ

Mitt Romney predicted on Sunday that a Republican Senate would break through congressional gridlock and pass legislation on immigration reform and trade.

Appearing on "Fox News Sunday," the former Massachusetts governor and 2012 Republican presidential nominee warned that President Barack Obama would move after Tuesday's midterm elections towards "amnesty" on immigration reform, a reference to the White House's decision to delay executive action on immigration until after the elections. But Romney said a Republican Congress would pass a more conservative immigration bill focused on border security that the president would sign.

“You’re going to see a provision, first of all, to secure the border," Romney said. "Second of all, to deal with those who come here illegally. And third, to make sure our immigration policies are more open and transparent … That’s going to happen. You’re going to see a bill actually reach the desk of the president if we finally have someone besides Harry Reid sitting in the Senate. So, we’re going to get it done.”

the designated loser to Hillary Abedin Clinton

That's perfect: She indeed is a HAC.

Is Romney trying to make the Republicans lose?

Just like he did in 2012.

Yeah, what an incentive to go out and vote GOP.

The more I see of Romney, the more I’m constantly reminded that the current Republican Party is, in its own peculiar way, about as distant from my values and my beliefs as the degenerate Dems.

If we have anyone left in the Republican party this is one of the best solutions to head off King Obama's plan.

Immigration law needs to be reformed. It is broken.

It all depends on what the details are.

What we need are the following:

Strict enforcement of the borders

A a “guest worker” program that does *not* allow for citizenship.

Some kind of control on “Anchor babies”.

Moving away from allowing one person to move their entire extended family to the United States once they are here.

Streamlining legal immigration so that it does not take years and many thousands of dollars for legal immigrants.

Moving back to a system that favors productive immigrants.

It's amazing how many posting are so ignorance and they are scared of Romney. Romney was right about so many things but a few blow hearts never learned.

Even if something is passed, do you REALLY think the Obama administration is going to actually enforce any new “border enforcement” law? Ditto any big-city liberal mayors?

They all ignore the current laws on the books right now, and they will continue to ignore any future laws. Except when it pertains to further opening the floodgates to legalization. That part, they’ll take and run with.

If you’re going to call people ignorant, at least learn how to spell it.

And it’s “blowhard,” not “blow heart.”

‘It’s amazing how many posting are so ignorance and they are scared of Romney. Romney was right about so many things but a few blow hearts never learned.’

Put me in the ‘not ignorant’ category. I had to live in MA for Romney’s entire, failed, miserable tenure. He was a bleeding disaster. I’ve written often & in great detail on these threads about exactly how & why he was so bad. Rather than spell it all out again, let me ask you this. How did Romney leave MA in better shape than he found it?

No, but it is much better if the Congress is against them. This administration is the most criminal that I think ever existed in the United States.

Previous administrations simply did not have the power that this one does, and even Wilson, Roosevelt, and Johnson at least wanted a productive and powerful United States.

Perhaps the Roosevelt administration was as criminal. It is hard to be sure, with the Orwellian rewriting of history that has been done.

Other founding members for team DNC, include Jimma Carter, DerSlickMyster, and Howard Dean. Oye Vey their isn't enough Excedrin to get rid of the headache all of these people give me...

“Immigration law needs to be reformed. It is broken.”

YES, YES, YES !!!

Your other comments are spot on.

What we need is the best leadership that can be mustered.

The current immigration situation does not poll well even with many Democrats.

Our base needs to fight hard but not be so ridiculous that all we end up with is nothing better than what we have now.

What was Romney right about?

Attacking Gov. Palin through surrogates?
Perhaps imposing RomneyCARE?
Perhaps imposing gay marriage (violating the Mass. Const.)?
Perhaps tanking the Mass economy?
Perhaps directing attacks against every conservative?
or was it his defense of Obama being undocumented?

Criminally power hungry yes, but I believe if FDR was the criminal THIS guy today is we’d never have won the war. He’d have made a deal with the Axis, and their Muslim supporters.
