The ACA was just a trick to saddle the middle class and businesses with a huge big tax. It wasn’t really meant to be health insurance for the middle class. The only ones who can really afford it are the poor, who are subsidized for their premiums and out of pocket costs. For the poor, it’s great, but for the middle class, it’s a disaster. Nobody is fixing it either.

Sure is. Our insurance is going up $3600 next year. That’s on top of the raises we have already had. I hope they all burn in Hades.

Let us not forget that because Obama has manipulated the provisions of the bill the Congressional Budget Office can’t score it so how can the folks at the New York Slimes scuttling along on thier knee pads?

I notice a lot of times the people ‘helped’ by Obamacare would be eligible for Medicaide or other state programs anyway.

The Fox special with Chris Wallace last night had a single mother that was a good example of this last night.

Thank you. I actually was born here (Amarillo) but moved many years ago with my parents to California.

We got here in August and it was pretty hot and the bugs ugh I hate bugs. We bought a home and we do like it here the people are super nice and our new neighborhood is wonderful.

The only thing I miss about Califronia is my 2 kids are there but they both came out and visited last week it was fun.

Texas does have the bugs...but the fire ants are the little critters which are not to be tolerated. A nickel for every bite they have bestowed... many Texans would be millionaires. Little known about Calif. Visited as a child but just about all that was seen was Disneyland and the surrounding area. Do remember my dad drove the car to the beach and proceeded to get stuck in the sand. Some guy came along and said he had a rope and could pull us out ....for cash. Dad said thanks anyway and continued to free wheels from sand (which he eventually succeeded to do) At that point we realized we were not in Texas any longer. Here at that time, persons halped others with no thought of payment or rewards. Oh! and soft drinks were outrageously expensive. Machines here charged about 6 cents a bottle.8 oz? The Pacific was not near as warm as we thought it would be..even in the middle of summer. The trip further up north to Oregon and Washington was one filled with stops to photograph everything! Beautiful country.

I’m sure Texas has changed a good deal since you left. It is still an ongoing change here where we live, not far from Big D, McKinney, Denton. Yikes it is grown and is still growing

The best of luck for you and your DH. Do hope you will be able to see your 2 children at Christmas. Alas! It is always a challenge to leave family behind.

Although I’ve been to Lubbock a few times, not actually ‘been’ to Amarillo. We pass thru on the way to other parts of the US. Born and raised in Big D and now live just a short trip as the crow flies from the city.
