Is the Affordable Care Act Working?
After a year fully in place, the Affordable Care Act has largely succeeded in delivering on President Obamas main promises, an analysis by a team of reporters and data researchers shows. But it has also fallen short in some ways and given rise to a powerful conservative backlash.
(Excerpt) Read more at nytimes.com ...
1. No, uninsured has risen signifacantly. NY Times is using bogus data rather than actual surveys.
2. No, most people are paying more now for healthcare, signifantly more than the normal raises, and data shows they’ll pay even more next year. Again, NY Times uses bogus data, comparing full ride coverage to full ride. A woman or man who didn’t have maternity coverage a year ago is paying at least a thousand more this year.
3. Useless statement.
4. No one knows.
5. Rates are going up, not down. Again, I useless point.
6. But, but, states are swimming in excess cash to expand medicare... People go down the hole, again.
7. Yes, as more people give up on insurance, and spend more on over the counter remedies or simply use clinics and pay out of pocket for less than the label price for an Obama Care office visit. Least you know you’ll see a doctor.
8. Has the Affordable Care Act sucked billions of dollars out of the economy through hidden taxes and punitive fees on individuals and businesses? YES.
9. Did the promoters of the Affordable Care Act knowingly and blatantly lie about coverage not being available to illegal aliens? YES.
10. Is the Affordable Care Act the largest and most damaging wealth redistribution scam ever forced on the nation by corrupt politicians teamed with a compromised Supreme Court. YES.
largely succeeded in delivering on President Obamas main promise.......ruination of the worlds best healthcare into third worldism.
Welcome to Texas. A shame you arrived in the heat of summer(though a cool summer was had here this year) We Texans love this state. Those fortunate enough to be born here would prefer to die here. Best of luck to you and your DH
I don’t know. I do know that my three doctors (GP, cardiologist, and urologist) have all retired or dropped me this year.
Oh, Not working as promised, but working as 0bama, Pelosi Reid and the other leftist rulers in D.C. want it to.
It is inexorably destroying the finest health care in the world, making billions in payoffs to 0bama cronies and paving the way for a completely government run, taxpayer funded rationing system.
Exactly as planned.
Oh yeah, the plan is working great! Just ask any member of Congress, they love it......oh wait....they exempted themselves from it.
The Slimes is covering for failure again.
Upstate of SC...best kept surprise in the country! Conservative, good jobs, affordable housing, low taxes, great family-friendly communities, schools, great climate, just an all-around nice place to be. But “shhhh!” Don’t tell the northeast libs...don’t need them coming down and diluting/poisoning all the good we’ve got going on here.
As far as where to go, I’ll second the suggestion of Upstate South Carolina. Greenville is a pretty town with a decent skyline and a waterfall with rapids running through the middle of downtown, so you can get your city amenities within a reasonable drive. I’d choose one of the more rural counties abutting North Carolina for home base, though.
Up into North Carolina isn’t bad at all either, so long as you dodge the major resort areas (expensive) and liberal enclaves such as Asheville. Brevard is a very nice town as is Transylvania County as a whole. Waterfalls galore and scenic beauty surround that valley, it’s one of the prettier mountain locales on the east coast with a surprisingly mild climate down on the valley floor. “Thermal Belt” I believe they call it.
Yes, the multigenerational passivity and belief in the dependency on government is going to be the death of the country. Nothing seems to get the fading majority to throw off the yoke of the oppressor.
I keep seeing statistics about coverage, but never about how many folks are actually getting good care when they need it. Coverage w/o the attendant care is just a meaningless statistic (sorry for that oxymoron).
....Many of those “insured” are subsidized. It’s much more affordable when someone else is paying for it....
The bama care has given the free pass out. You’re covered Kevin!
Went to the ER the other day. My insurance plan which has doubled in cost in three yearly jumps (that’s really only 2 years time) also has added more give it up front costs.
The ER asked for the copay.. 90 bucks pay then 150 bucks pay later?
Emboldenment of their clientele is tweaking collections. I only presume though ¿ I wonder how this disparity in copay amount is written into the HC policy? Or are they giving out stay afloat privileges. Maybe they don’t trust anyone.

Well experts how many of the 40 million who did not have insurance now have it? How much More are young people having to pay for older and dead beats? How many can actually find a doctor who will participate in this boondoggle?
It’s all bullshit
But you see, when the burger sellers get a $15 wage, that will induce wage inflation including yours and then that raise will enable you to pay for the more expensive health insurance.
And you must just overlook the fact that since your deductible is exponentially increased, your hospital visit will cost you 3 months wages out of pocket. But not to worry because you were healed by the wage inflation that made the premium tax pain go away.
Mean mothers of crack baby bastards take their plastic to Walmart and buy beer
Don’t come to VA. My Anthem Blue Cross premium is slated to go up 60%. To keep the premium affordable, I will have to step down to a bronze (i.e. catastrophic) plan.
One other person I know in VA said their premium is slated to go up over 100%.
For that reason alone, Obama considers it a huge success. Voters happily depending on government are reliable Rat voters.
yes but....... your governor and future President of the United States is Terry
Northern Virginia is a cancer on the rest of the state. It is full of government workers and has one of the highest numbers of “children” illegal alien placements.
