The gay marriage referendum in 2012 brought huge sums of money and an outpouring of gay voters and supporters. It cost the Republican both state house.

Paul LaPage seems to be doing everything right. But Cutler dropping out on Thursday with net Michaud more votes than LaPage. However, RCP still shows Maine going for LaPage.

Different polls have different internals and different results.

The poll in the liberal Portland newspaper last Sunday had conservative Republican Paul LePage ahead 10 points in a three-way race.

The same poll had Le Page ahead by 7 points in a 2-way race between LePage and Michaud.

That poll showing LePage up 10 was an outler, every other poll has had the race nearly tied.

We need enough Cutler supporters to stick with him, rather than vote for the queer.
