On Friday afternoon, family spokesman Jonathan Franks told the AP that captive Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi will be released from a Mexican prison immediately, per a judge's order.
Sgt. Tahmooressi served two tours in Afghanistan and was back home in the United States when he inadvertently crossed the border into Mexico while his legally purchased and legally owned guns were in his truck. He was imprisoned in Mexico and has been there for almost 8 months. After the judge made the ruling, which did not address the question of guit or innocence of the charges against him, the family issued a statement.
"It is with an overwhelming and humbling feeling of relief that we confirm that Andrew was released today after spending 214 days in a Mexican jail."
Tahmooressi's plight has been the subject of much scrutiny and has garnered support from around the nation and the halls of Congress, some of whom have commented already on his release.

Thank you, God! The entire month will be Thanksgiving for the family.
He has disdain for military and gun owners.
Oh really?/s
Only because the gun-grabbing politicians dont want to pi$$ off voters even more, at this juncture.
Duh...That’s why I said it will go no where.
Watch O’Reilly take credit.
Thank The Lord for that Judge!!!!Welcome Home,Sarge!!!!
If he only had contracted Ebola he would have been home in a HeartBeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“It does. It also poses problem for him as to type of weapons he was possessing in California.”
How so? From what I understand about the weapons, they were legally obtained and possessed. Tonight’s comment about their being loaded is not substantiated so it is hearsay that they were loaded, and that no CA LEO actually saw them loaded in the state would preclude any legal action. While it’s getting more difficult to buy new handguns here, there are no restraints on purchasing used handguns and AR’s are perfectly legal here as well. “Normal capacity” mags are also legal if they were obtained prior to the implementation of the current restrictions.
“Actually, the jig is WAY down. (In the polls) “
I think the poster may have been referring to one of our many AA astronauts!
Would love to see a Repub Nov. surprise with the Sgt. and Mother holding a Press Conference and just unloading on Obingo and his clown school Admin.
The California laws are, If I have read correctly, prohibitive of loaded weapons in vehicles.
I don’t know what weapons he had on him. But, I would suspect they are banned or regulated to near impossibility to possess there.
Same here.
On the WH lawn.
He’s still UA like a big dog though.
Finally! Thank goodness.
a tiny bright spot in this - The Narcssisit in Chief won’t be able to preen in front of the cameras for ‘saving our Marine”
and
Sgt Tahooressi will never have to be beholden to the Traitor-in-chief.
When you consider all the 'concern' and trips and speeches these two pukes did over the thug in Ferguson - turns your stomach.
I will never set foot in Mexico (or drive near enough to accidentally enter as the Marine did). I feel sorry for any white heterosexual who takes that risk while the White House is occupied by a bigot who hates those Americans for who we are.
Loaded? what is loaded to a news reporter? Rounds in a magazine? I believe nothing of what a “reporter” reports other than the facts will be skewed to support an agenda.
He was also on his way to PTSD therapy at San Diego. I’m sure that once he got to the base, the issue of any potential legality would have been addressed.
Finally saw videos on FoxNews this morning. So nice to see his smile.
