LOUISVILLE On a stage late Thursday morning before several hundred people outside the Muhammad Ali Center, former President Bill Clinton tried to deliver a knockout punch against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on behalf of Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes.
Clinton, making his fourth visit to Kentucky for Grimes' bid to oust the Republican incumbent from his 30-year tenure, painted Grimes as a champion for working people.
He said Kentucky, which he won both times he ran for president, has not had a champion for the working people in the U.S. Senate since Democrat Wendell Ford left in 1999. Grimes will work to increase the minimum wage, lower interest rates on college loans and work to keep coal miners safe and employed, Clinton said.
He said McConnell will work solely to benefit his wealthy supporters.

The dream - we retake the Senate without Cornyn, Graham, Cochran and McConnell
It could be the only thing the Democrats have to cheer about on election night.
One might be forgiven on our side, if we celebrate his loss, because we gained the majority and Mitch wouldn’t be around to lead us over a cliff.
Good riddance if that comes to pass.
If it was Addison and not Alison I doubt he would keep returning to the same alley.
If he could only remember what they were good for...
I would love a Republican majority without Ditch.
Groping for votes.
I’ll say this much for Grimes: she’s better looking than Ditch.
That’s actually McConnell’s first name (Addison) - he goes by his middle name, Mitchell.
Who are the working bill refers to?
Said the man who has made $115 Million Dollars just giving speeches to wealth liberals and organizations.
An impossible dream given how the Cochran affair has shaken out, but it’s a beautiful one, to be sure!
People working the system.

(This TV station basically gave Grimes a three minute commercial and McConnell is still winning.)
Alison better keep an eye on his hands
“I would love a Republican majority without Ditch.”
Me too, but I don’t want to cede a seat to this bitch because it would be gone for two, three or four terms (there seems to be a vein of abject stupidity that runs from Minnesota clear down to the Gulf Coast). The people in Kentucky are brain dead and would dutifully keep re-electing her. If Scrotum Chin wins, it’s probably his last term. Ditto for Crotchran. Don’t know about Cornball or the AH from Tennessee, but you could primary them next time. Holding onto the Senate in 2016 will be a good trick anyway, so we need this miserable prick to survive in my opinion.
I certainly will not be shedding any tears over a McConnell loss.
In fact, I will be cheering it.
That said, Given the amount of fraud already being reported in the country - I would not be surprised if the GOP lost the House by ‘miraculous Democrat turnout’.
