Nurse Kaci Hickox who remains symptom-free after spending three days in a New Jersey isolation tent after flying home from Ebola-stricken West Africa remains under quarantine at home in Maine, but for only another day, she tells TODAY's Matt Lauer.
I dont plan on sticking to the guidelines. I remain appalled by these home quarantine policies that have been forced upon me, even though I am in perfectly good health and feeling strong and have been this entire time completely symptom free, said Hickox, who wouldnt emerge from Maines 21-day voluntary quarantine until Nov. 10.
I truly believe this policy is not scientifically nor constitutionally just, and so Im not going to sit around and be bullied around by politicians and be forced to stay in my home when I am not a risk to the American public.
Hickox, who pointed out that top health officials believe a quarantine is unnecessary unless someone develops symptoms, also said:
She doesn’t seem to be terribly compassionate.
I heard she’s holed up with her nursing student boyfriend who’s been allowed to keep up with his classes online.
She does not have Ebola or even Typhoid.
And now the government has ruined her plan.
That is a great post.
We don’t KNOW if she has Ebola, honey.....she hasn’t been in quarantine LONG enough to know.....pray she doesn’t.
Newbie....take some notes here.
That’s a very accurate and eerie comparison. I did not know Typhoid Mary was quibbling about quarantines too. Would it be ironic if Miss Nurse was distantly related to Typhoid Mary.
You can just bet she will have to suspend her Twitter account soon, if she hasn’t already. People know a fake and a drama queen when we see one. Most of them are not potentially fatal, there is the difference.
Typhoid Mary= Obama....he is IMMUNE from HIS laws!!!
She may not have Ebola...but her eyebrows say she has thyroid issues
She’s nothing but scum. Evil scum. I wouldn’t want her emptying my bed pan.
It would be poetic justice.
Best comment yet regarding this insidious prima donna.
I think I’m starting to understand why Ebola has killed so many more medical personnel this time.
They seem to have some kind of belief that they’re magically immune and can’t pass the disease on to others.
The words “I believe in science” are not some kind of magical incantation.
I would agree that she should remain in home quarantine until the 21 days expires. However, forcing her into that tent in Newark when she had no symptoms was a huge government overreach.
Texas is doing it right by not forcing the nurse into a quarantine and letting her go home.
“0h look at me! I really care! Not about you though! I am the one that must be acknowleged. Everyone else must submit to my awesome acts of kindness...even if it kills them.”
Any one that has experienced the death of a terminally ill loved one should appreciate the limits of medicine and “science.”
There is still a great deal that doctors don’t know and can’t predict.
We need a Taming Of The Shrew, but we’re kind of short on Richard Burton types these days.
Let her walk.... If she infects someone, I think she’s looking at a huge law suit, for whatever she owns which is probably nothing...but the lay out she’s about to push on Hustler Mag...for her fifteen minutes of fame...
