If one of those people being monitored wishes to go all over the place there is nothing that can be done to stop them. Unless this is a secured holding to a limited area, it is not an effective containment.
it might be that people from Africa who arrived here with Ebola are hidden all over the country without the locals knowing about it..
Obama did this with tens of thousands of illegal aliens a few months ago..many sick with disease..
it worked so well for him..
why would he not do the same with lots of Ebolans ???

“Self-monitored” means they take their temp once a day and voluntarily phone in if they feel ill. AND they promise to not go out for soup or go bowling.

105 people brought into one state from Africa over the past 21 days. Knowing that Ebola is running rampant in Africa. We have lost our collective minds.

I live in Pa.....there’s Phila. East and Pitts. West on each end of the state with major flight terminals.

I’m up against it here... PaDad approaches “bad times” from a 100% religious pov. He (and his brother who is a lay minister) are of total Biblical mindset of belief. “Prepping” by me has become a sore point (and I have NOT done much—fiances don’t permit a lot of “extras” right now.). I walk a tight rope (by his assessment of my OWN making).
I hope yinz CAN make your moves...my dream (prepping not withstanding) has ALWAYS been to move out last Ligionier...maybe into Somerset county. I love the Laurel Highlands area. But northern PA has tons of open forest!
One thing I HAVE thought of regarding Ebola and the Burgh...would the suits of UPMC and the ALLEGHENY HEALTH SYSTEM not trample each other to get to a presser “we got Ebola first!” So at least there’s THAT possible built in quasi warning :-/

In NYC they are giving out false information, like “You can’t get from a doorknob.” You can if an ebola patient just used that doorknob and you use it and then touch your nose, mouth, or eye. Why don’t they teach the science? Categorizing by household object is moronic or intentionally misleading.

No but “good” that the states are adopting their own rules that are better than the Fedgov rules.
Maine’s imposed their own quarantine/monitoring on the CDC nurse that NJ had. She claims she want comply. I hope they catch her non-compliant and throw her in the slammer.
What the government imbeciles are fogetting is that it’s not all about diseases killing people, it’s also about how unpleasant it can be to get sick. I would not want to be sick to the point where I have to be sealed off from my own family for weeks.
