Austin, TX – As early voting begins, there has been a huge increase in mail-in-ballots thanks to the Texas Democratic Party’s vote by mail program.
In January, we sent more than 116,000 annual applications to eligible voters so they could vote by mail in the Democratic primary, runoff, and the general election. This set the stage for success this November.
We followed-up that successful program with more than 637,000 applications mailed in September.
Texas Democratic Party Executive Director Will Hailer released the following statement:
“We are incredibly encouraged by the numbers we are seeing for vote by mail. For the first time ever, the Texas Democratic Party built and funded a statewide program with more than 600,000 Texans receiving vote by mail applications. “Not only did these voters receive the applications, but candidates, county parties, Battleground Texas, the Texas Democratic Party and dozens of Turnout Texas fellows across the state made phone calls and knocked on doors to encourage voters to return their applications and vote by mail.
We believe the spike in vote by mail ballots can be attributed to this successful program and the hard work of the Democratic infrastructure being built across the state. This program shows that when Democrats work together, we can achieve big things.

And it was so successful that we had 232,000 Returned.

That was definitely about registering illegal votes.
and how do they keep those who mailed in ballots from turning up on election day?
Why is there a political party and activist groups involved in this process? Those votes should all be discarded.
I agree. The fact that nobody really knows who completed these phony ballots or where they came from is enough to make sure that they are not counted. At least, that’s the way any normal person would see it.
Absentee voting...the more common name...I think is how they get the ballots to vote for people in nursing homes.
I have no clue how "Photo ID" figures into absentee voting.

To keep my ballot from being used by others, I take my mail-in ballot and walk it over to my polling place; because it’s right next door.
I’ve know the people at the polling place (20 years), and I know my ballot will be handled correctly.
Also, if you have relatives who have passed during the previous year, and you are sure they were a registered voter, then be sure you appear at the County Registar’s office, and make sure their name is removed. Don’t call; do it in person .. and get something in writing that this has been done. Don’t allow some crook to steal your family members’ right to vote.
CITIZENS: Do your homework .. don’t allow non-citizens to scam this country.
And a liberal judge will declare it a valid win.
And if any conservatives object, liberals will scream “Disenfranchisement!!!!”
the Republicans in Texas have been sending these out for years ....all it is a letter and a form that says you can fill this out form to request a ballot by mail if you’re over 65, etc. .....this is not 637,000 ballots being mailed out ..
Yep has to be requested by mail by the voter. Has been available for years as you say.
Nothing new except that the dems are making an effort to get people to request them.
Take your ballots to the polling place, surrender them and vote in person.
If you don’t want to vote for Cornyn, leave that space blank, but go and vote for the conservatives on the ballot. It doesn’t take but a minute to select them individually.
Early voting ends on Friday. Vote or don’t complain about Democrat fraud in the Black and Brown precincts. You can cancel out one fraudulent vote with your good one.
The rural area where I live used to be the winter quarters of a lot of liberal snowbirds-RV’s cabins, vaca homes, etc-so many of them actually tried to vote in elections here that there were extra workers at the polling places checking credentials-and lots of people with whiny accents left in a huff after being told they can only vote where they really live-I guess they thought we are all a bunch of dumb rednecks...
I guess I should be glad that our tourist business has been destroyed by Obama’s economy-no snowbirds trying to vote twice...

so let me clarify and verify here;
A: You are predicting Democrats pick up Senate seats?
B: You are predicting Democrats pick up House seats?
C: You are literally predicting that the Democrats will pick up seats that aren’t even on the ballot?
Surely you jest.
I wonder about this story!
D. I predict that after November 4, 2014, there will not be one elected Republican or Conservative in the entire universe.
