A newly-hired social studies teacher intercepted a gunman as he tried to reload during a deadly shooting at a Washington state high school on Friday, a union official says, describing her actions as amazing.
Marysville Education Association president Randy Davis told The Associated Press Saturday that first-year social studies teacher Megan Silberberger intervened in the shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

Teacher tried to stop shooting at Washington state high school, while weapon is recovered
Judging from the article, I think they meant "while weapon is reloaded".
Another Gun-Free Zone
If just one teacher in the lunchroom was properly trained and carrying a firearm, this tragedy could have ben prevented.
Liberalism is killing us and our kids!
At least lives would have been saved. Shooter would likely still get first shots off. Prevented....no. Unless good guy with gun was paying absolutely 100% attention.
“...first-year social studies teacher Megan Silberberger intervened in the shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.”
First - *APPLAUSE*
Second - The LefTard Gun Grabbers are going to make her life a living HELL, so let’s keep tabs on her, shall we?
We shall.
That female teacher probably has more testosterone than all of the male teachers at that school COMBINED.
You go girl!
Sounds like an attempt to bring mag capacity issue up...
How brave and selfless. She is a true first responder, running to and not from danger. Would that I will do the same if called.
The libs coach people to run, cower, be still, stay quiet, lock doors, hide... F that, ATTACK! Congrats to the teach, I’m sure she will be fired.
Why didn’t the police stop this?...Just asking.
You know the answer...
When seconds count, the Police are only minutes away...
But there was a rule against having guns in school. Why didn’t the shooter obey the rules?...Just asking.
A lesson from the past: if a fact is not useful to advance the liberal agenda, it never is worth mentioning.
Here is what I wrote about Columbine:
During the Columbine massacre, in which 15 people were murdered and 21 injured, a total of four firearms were involved. The murderers also employed four knives and 99 explosive devices.
Of the firearms, only one qualified under the 1984 federal law as a banned “assault rifle”. One firearm was a doubled barreled shotgun with a shortened barrel. It has long been a federal felony to saw down the barrel of a shotgun and it was also a felony to possess such an altered weapon.
Every single explosive device was a federal and state felony to assemble, possess and use, and to use in the commission of a crime.
If the memory of Columbine is ever brought up today, the failure of the law to stop the use of explosives in a school massacre is never mentioned. It is never mentioned because that gets in the way of a Gollum-like fixation on the Precious, starting with the banning of certain firearms and certain accessories but to eventually to banning all firearms.
Don’t forget, the law enforcement ‘first responders’ were cowering outside until it was pretty much over at Columbine. If they had been relied upon for this latest event, the shooter would probably still be in there squeezing the trigger.
I read an account of the teachers actions. She tried the grab the gun hand, but the student was able to escape her grasp. He then committed suicide.
It seems unlikely that he was attempting to reload. He only fired five or six shots. The handgun is described as a .40 caliber Beretta.
As he shot himself after the teacher intervened, He obviously had at least one round left in the pistol.
It is pretty clearly a domestic case, even if he was only 15 years old.
Very sad.
.........I think the “sad” part is that a cold, dispassionate look at these kind of shootings will conclude, among people with a brain, that with 300,000,000 people in these here United States stopping ALL shootings no matter what you do is impossible.
That said, my kids are grown thank god but I would pull them out of any school that did not have armed and trained teachers or other personnel. A Gun Free School Zone is a “death zone”.
This shooting proves once again that “seconds count”.....thank god for the brave young lady teacher!

You are exactly right, this shooting was personal, very personal.
One of the Jaylen’s twitter posts mention, “our kid”. My guess is that the girl was pregnant and turned to others to remedy the situation. Jaylen went nuts.
I blame this shooting on the early sexualization of children and abortion.
