Alaska Wins With Independence; Stepping Aside for the Greater Good
Sarah Palin on Facebook ^ | October 25, 2014 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 10/25/2014 5:16:51 PM PDT by Resettozero

Our family is proud to support Bill Walker to lead Alaska! Bill Walker, Byron Mallott, and their families joined with ours and other Alaskans in Todd’s airplane hangar this week in a show of true Alaskan support, complete with a potlatch brimming with salmon, moose, and caribou hors d’oeuvres.

Life-long Alaskans Bill and Byron have proven that they truly have our state’s heart and believe in putting Alaska first and ignoring status quo politics that get in the way of Alaska’s destiny. This is refreshing and productive, and Alaska wins when Team Walker wins!

This unity ticket came about when winners of their respective primary races selflessly stepped aside for the sake of Alaska! This is rarely done in politics and proves that this strong independent ticket represents an Alaskan-sized heart, putting people over party machine politics and Alaskans over egos.

Yours was a thoughtful and open response; very instructive for me since I'm really not deep into politics as, say, a consultant might be.

It would be a different story if Walker picked a non-leftist running mate, but choosing to make common cause with the corrupt union-straitjacketed AK Dems is a giveaway to the rest of us that this is not a Conservative guy.

From reading her books and picking up on things she has mentioned over the course of these past 6 years, my impression is that there's very little difference between the two main political parties in Alaska; both suffer deep corruption.

Are you going to vote in this race in Alaska or do you still live in Tennessee? Thanks. R2z

No, I’m in TN, but I follow all state politics. AK may be a small state population-wise, but it certainly doesn’t lack for intrigue.

I’m not in an enviable position here. We have a RINO Governor (Haslam). I didn’t trust him in 2010 and voted 3rd party. My lack of trust in him was confirmed by his actions in office (he is far more comfortable with the Democrat super-minority and went out of his way to spend money trying to defeat Conservatives in the primary).

Because of a Byzantine system related to important amendments on the ballot, the fewer those voting for Governor, the better the chance of their passage (so many voters will be leaving the Gov race blank this year). The Dems aren’t backing their nominee, who may actually be more Conservative than Haslam (his name is Charlie Brown (!)).

Our Senator is technically further to the left than your Graham, that being Lamar! (who ranked 4th most liberal RINO, with only Kirk of IL, Collins of ME and Murkowski of AK being more left-wing). We have no runoffs in TN, unfortunately, and with Lamar! getting 49% where Democrats routinely crash the GOP open primary, he would’ve lost to his Conservative challenger, Joe Carr, in a closed runoff. I last voted for Lamar! in 2002. I will never vote for him again (and he also lied about running for a 3rd term... his own book said, “Two terms and OUT !”. Of course, he lied to Tennesseans when he said in 1996 he wouldn’t run for office again and 2 decades later he just won’t leave). He’ll be almost 81 at the end of this next term and he has been running for office since he was 34.

Graham should’ve been run out, too, but there were too many candidates running this year in the primary and Conservatives should’ve privately met and got behind a single challenger. I endorsed Ravenel for the general. He may not be a prize, but Graham is just part of the problem in DC, and we have WAY too many problem people on our side (perhaps yet another rationale for Palin’s drop kicking her former protégé in Juneau).

I endorsed Ravenel for the general.

All of this household's voters agreed on Ravenel about a month ago. Which is why I am not torn apart when SP or anyone else breaks from the R ticket to endorse and vote for whomever they really want to support.

I have never had and still have no vested interest in the Republican Party, although, since Reagan in 1980, I've found myself unhappily voting that way often in the general elections. Not any more.

Oh, and that pipeline she had all but built? Ya, no pipeline.

And how much of that is the Pricepoint Difference of getting Oil from Alaska to the lower 48 or wherever, when the transportation cost give it a price disadvantage to it's competitor, i.e. to the culmination of technologies we call "Fracking" and the fact it that Fracking is occurring in parts of the country that don't have the extra cost of dealing with extreme cold on so many levels fit into play?

Just asking....

For those who don't do Facebook:

It is interesting...

The Punditry class is noting voter dissatisfaction with both parties and are predicting the rise of outside parties / runners in the coming years.

So one could ask:

* Is Sarah saying yes, it is ok to vote for candidates that are not affiliated with broken party A or B?
* Is it her giving up hope in certain circumstances in regards to the E-GOP?
*A Women scorned and settling a score for all things E-GOPian, Rovian, Romneyian, Barbourian( - Mississippi ), Peggy Noonian, and K-Streetian that have tried to destroy her and her family for the last 6 years? Kind of like the day Rush asked his callers to call the capital hill switch board and he melted down the lines?

I don't have the answers, perhaps time will tell us as events unfold, perhaps it will also denote, "she's baaacckkkk" when everyone has been saying her stock is on the decline....

Well, she and Todd both have severe competitive streaks dating back to their childhoods.

Since you're speculating...

Could the ruckus at the recent party be more related to this announced stance taken by SP than was first apparent? I'm thinking there is a correlation somehow between the two events.

I think if Sarah posts here, it’s likely to be someone who elicits a lot of applause and thumbs ups for their posts.

I’d really love to see her pen an editorial, exclusive to FR. This community has been one of her staunchest defenders for years now.

Well some of us fight the good fight. Considering the PDS here that goes unzotted, I wouldn’t if I were her. Because it would result in even more crapping all over her and her family than they do now.

Mmmm.......dunno. If Sarah herself posted directly to the Freeper community, the replies would be quite a bit more civil than the PDS that gets thrown at us.

No doubt, there'd be some who challenged her on particular issues, but I doubt we'd see any truly disrespectful posts. It would be instant zot territory for any who dared.

Gotta disagree Windy, Rare though that is ;) Look at some of the comments. They are obviously posted by lib plants. How many times have we caught people posting conversations to themselves under multiple accounts? They could care less about the zot.

Now for the ‘non’ actual plants, i still think they would be every bit as disrespectful just to have the chance to impress their friends. Lets face it, they show the intelligence of schoolkids so their self control is on the same level.

They mouth off on every Palin thread about her, her voice, her daughters...look at the crap going on even today over the brawl. Look at the idiots still trying to push the quitter meme. They would have ZERO problem saying it to her online. To her face? No, cowards hiding behind internet handles never do. But they would be in hog heaven because so fat they do it daily with no lightning. So why SHOULD they NOT do the very same thing?

If it is bad enough to blow them out if they say it to her, it ought to be likewise for saying that crap at all.

Sigh....

Unfortunately, I can't argue with your logic. I would hope, though, that the zot gun would be primed and pumped for such basterds.

Yeah, I know what you mean. When the GOP serves as a vehicle for Conservative candidates, it gets my wholehearted support. When it serves as a vehicle for weasels (Boehner), frauds (Willard), and creeps (Thad the Cad), it gets my wholehearted rejection.

Leftism as a policy has proven the greatest single failure of the past 100+ years. Conservatism works when it is actually employed. Why any sane person in office would continue to pursue and enact failure is beyond my comprehension. There are far too many Republicans who have an abject fear of pursuing a winning agenda. Those individuals have got to be removed from every position of authority, wherever they may be.
