CHP: 3 officers shot in Sacramento, Placer counties [California]

The California Highway Patrol says at least three officers have been shot in Sacramento and Placer counties by a man and woman who are heavily armed.

active event, "Ford F-150 with a license plate of 8J34411" spotted in Auburn about an hour ago. The car-jacked motorist was shot also. No details on the LEOs conditions yet. News conference pending.

right. started out at a motel 6 with a sac county officer involved abt 10:30am. last sighting at time of post was Auburn area which is Placer county

Investigator Michael Davis, Jr. was later also shot and killed in this incident by the same suspect.

In one of the oddities of life, his father also listed as an Investigator was also killed in the line of duty 26 yrs. earlier on the exact same day (10.24.88)!!!

Investigator Michael Davis, Sr. was killed in a helicopter accident while working on a multi-agency narcotics task force. A car was spotted in a canyon and the helicopter began to descend when its rotor blades struck power lines and caused it to crash.
