League City officials say a patient's symptoms and recent travel to Africa forced the precautionary closure of an emergency clinic.
Based on the countries the patient recently visited, the Centers for Disease Control believes there is very little to zero risk of exposure to Ebola, however.
It was shortly after 11 a.m. Friday when the staff at Intermediate Medical Care located at 2640 E League City Parkway called authorities.
A medical worker said a male patient who had recently traveled from Africa was at the facility and "exhibiting symptoms that could be consistent with Ebola."

No kidding? I hadn’t read that. For most health care facilities, the main protection is Thou Shall Not Pass into the interior.
Getting your facility shut down, people avoiding your facility, decontamination, health care workers quarantined etc. etc. Many facilities simply couldn’t survive the hit.
League City is basically a suburb south of Houston, TX.
Thank you.
.
About halfway between Houston and Galveston. It's across the lake from the Johnson Space Center.
Thank you.
I know SJL’s district ends nor far from League City but I don’t know that I’ve ever seen her in League City. Have been surprised that she hasn’t shown up in Houston more lately in support of Mayor Porker and wonder if it could be that many Blacks in the 3rd and 4th ward really oppose the gay issue. Perhaps she is trying to walk a thin line, although that doesn’t seem to have stopped her before.
“This is neither here nor there, but I saw a picture of the bowling alley. It looked like an old auto shop hole in the wall in a bad part of town. ”
Why would a doctor from manhattan go there?
Why? The guy doesn't have Ebola.
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
That's what I've been wondering ever since I saw it hours ago under an ABC article about it, the Gutter Bowling Alley in Williamsburg neighborhood.
I finally got the image embedded but it's huge and scrolls way to the right; people don't like that.
Maybe the link will work, copy and paste it into browser.

[Why? The guy doesn’t have Ebola]
But I posted FIVE HOURS earlier than you Steve, and the later news hadn’t been posted yet!
A link to this thread has been posted on the Ebola Surveillance Thread
Thanks for the ping!
