League City officials say a patient's symptoms and recent travel to Africa forced the precautionary closure of an emergency clinic.
Based on the countries the patient recently visited, the Centers for Disease Control believes there is very little to zero risk of exposure to Ebola, however.
It was shortly after 11 a.m. Friday when the staff at Intermediate Medical Care located at 2640 E League City Parkway called authorities.
A medical worker said a male patient who had recently traveled from Africa was at the facility and "exhibiting symptoms that could be consistent with Ebola."

Oh, great, now all of Houston is on alert. It’s not a proper Ebola unit but at least UTMB’s Biosafety Level 4 facility is nearby and they know a lot more about it than Frieden’s any ol’ podunk hospital would.
My son, his wife, and his children live in Webster, next town over.
Kind of difficult to keep all thus under wraps with so much social media! Ha ha Obola & your czar!
Yikes, I just remembered Sheila “Don’t You Know Who I Am” Jackson-Lee is there. Jesse has been MIA since Duncan’s demise but if anything will bring him out of hiding, this is it.
Where is League City?
.
Every single person now infected in this country is infected because of this administration. Duncan only came because they let him. This idiotic, arrogant and non-caring doc in NYC was only able to wander around NYC like a tourist on holiday because they let him. How many similar carriers are here now, or will arrive in the next 2 months is anyone’s guess - but they will all be here/get here because they let them do so, and all of those infected because of those new carriers will be the administration’s fault.
Thanks, Resident @ssclown Obola!
League City is a stone’s throw from Houston...only 5 million people, nothing to worry about here, move along.
Thanks.
.
The results of open borders, and lack of quarantines continue to close medical areas to other citizens who need treatment.
Maybe our clinics and other places should set up a field triage unit just for patients who have been in an Ebola area, to avoid the closure of their normal operations.
Jackson-Lee is there.”
neither SJL nor her constituents are anywhere near League City. Her nest is in the sanctuary area of Houston. League City is south on the way to Galveston - think NASA.
Thanks-—I have been to Houston and Galveston but it was about 20 years ago.
.
At least one hospital ER locked the front door and set up a tent triage just for that purpose. It does seem to be the only way to avoid all hospitals from becoming contaminated.
I have three brothers and their families in the Nasa, Seabrook, Kemah and Galveston areas. Looks like all of us are going to be doing a lot of praying and worrying from now on.
Her district ends a mere 10 miles from League City. Yes, she will be out in front of the cameras.
reporting ebola free, thankfully: http://www.galvestondailynews.com/free/article_bf6bdf0c-5bb1-11e4-a5ac-0017a43b2370.html
These stories annoy me. If he traveled to South Africa, Egypt, or any other country that doesn't have Ebola, it's stupid to mention travel to Africa. They should say which country, if they want to inform the public (which does not seem to be a priority with today's media).
Thank you.
It's too bad he will now know the fear the other patients have felt and be confined anyway. Plus it raises the vary serious matter. HE GOT THROUGH THE SCREENER. How many more? You can bet there will be more. Somebody said on the radio, can't remember who it was, that by accident or design, they have turned the US into an experimental ebola testing ground.
This is neither here nor there, but I saw a picture of the bowling alley. It looked like an old auto shop hole in the wall in a bad part of town.
