A doctor in New York City who recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea tested positive for the Ebola virus Thursday, becoming the citys first diagnosed case.
The doctor, Craig Spencer, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital on Thursday and placed in isolation while health care workers spread out across the city to trace anyone he might have come into contact with in recent days. A further test will be conducted by the federal Centers for Disease Control to confirm the initial test.
While officials have said they expected isolated cases of the disease to arrive in New York eventually, and had been preparing for this moment for months, the first case highlighted the challenges surrounding containment of the virus, especially in a crowded metropolis.

Thanks for posting. I just saw the siren go up on Drudge. Health/life BUMP! Be prepared.
Is this the guy that went bowing yesterday?
GG
Here we go. Why are these people allowed in here and not quarantined for a period of time? In this case, we knew he came back from treating Ebola patients.
So who all did he possibly infect after returning home?
Apparently he’s been on the subways and in cabs.
Good thing there is not a lot of media in that city... otherwise people might panic.
Can only imagine how the great state will deal with this. Hopefully well.
Why aren’t doctors who return to US from treating Ebola victims quarantined for at least 21 days?
It’s now in six west African countries and has made it to America, Norway, Germany, the UK, France, and Spain.

What’s bowing? Like Obama?
Sources said Spencer went bowling last night in Williamsburg and took an Uber car to get there and back...
I check in on the boards at DU, Huffington Post and Daily Beast. They think Ebola is a ho-hum news story, they are much more concerned about the havoc Gov. Scott Walker will create if he gets re-elected and how the previous cases were handled badly because they occurred in Texas.
I wonder know if they will turn into born-again preppers now that Ebola has hit a blue state of theirs and the heart of their liberal nanny state.
God help us.
He had been feeling “sluggish” for a few days prior.
I wonder if he self quarantined himself, otherwise he spread his treats to everyone in New York City
Can this be put on breaking news?
There could have been 100’s of people who used those Uber cars after him. Loveley.
Also good that not a lot of people live there...
