Its much easier to apply for SSI.

SSD on the other hand, is very difficult to get on even though the benefits are quite good.

You have to have a very serious disability that interferes with normal employment to collect.

You will be turned down for SSD - they will tell you that at the local SSA office.

Get a lawyer and hope your appeal succeeds before you get your SSD checks at the bank.

no SSD is not hard to get....my sil and bil both have it and both are big time fakers and takers....so sick that they drive sports cars and the one plays poker almost every day, which is sitting for hours which is horrible for a bad back, which he supposedly has....

no joke, my sil threw here cane away the minute she found out her lawyer got her a nice big fat SSD check...

and working in a hospital, I see way too many 35 yros who are on disability....one was on it for carpul tunnel...another for stress....another for mental problems...like bipolar...another for arthritic knee...

I can tell you that most nurses have arthritic knees, degenerative disc disease, stress and carpul tunnel....yet some people keep on keeping on and others...."where's my money"?
