President Barack Obama convened a surprise meeting Saturday night on Ebola. The White House meeting of top officials and advisors took place after Obama played golf in the afternoon at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia with ESPN host Tony Kornheiser.
The urgent Ebola meeting came as Obama chided Americans in his weekly Saturday address for being concerned over three cases of Ebola when thousands are killed by the flu every year.
In a who are you going to believe, me or your own lying eyes moment, Obama told the nation there is not an Ebola outbreak in Dallas, but that there may be more isolated cases.
First, what were seeing now is not an outbreak or an epidemic of Ebola in America. Were a nation of more than 300 million people. To date, weve seen three cases of Ebola diagnosed here-the man who contracted the disease in Liberia, came here and sadly died; the two courageous nurses who were infected while they were treating him. Our thoughts and our prayers are with them, and were doing everything we can to give them the best care possible. Now, even one infection is too many. At the same time, we have to keep this in perspective. As our public health experts point out, every year thousands of Americans die from the flu.

That’s what it appears to be.
he wanted to say, “ebola is the jayvee of infectious diseases”. he really, really did.
He wouldn’t know what to do if he got it. Although he might seek an easier way out.
Thousands? Millions?
Perhaps, it would be well for us all to remember that the President began his political career in the living room of a man who wrote that it would be necessary to kill 25 million of his countrymen to achieve the socialist utopia.
I am not surprised, most of his public statements directed at the everyday people show that he has no clue what the average person has to deal with, and yet he goes on like the unreformed Jason Stevens having fun and clueless to the suffering all around his bubble of luxury. At least Jason Stevens woke up to the condition of the world around him. I hope the same for POTUS, but I have to prepare for the worst.
Well didn’t Ayers rant when the population was less? Now the number in proportion would be closer to 60-70 million Americans.
Obama said she should just take a PAIN PILL KILLER.
It's more like one of those parties where they sell sexual paraphernalia. Obama and his minions sit around devising new ways to stick it up our collective a$$.
“Obama chided Americans in his weekly Saturday address for being concerned over three cases of Ebola”
Well, yeah. A contagious disease with a 0.01% fatality rate doesn’t warrant quite the same concern as a 70% fatality rate.
You win the IbTeRwEbZ ;)
All of us but him are expendable so far as he is concerned.
Heartless gutter snipe is mild for what he is.
And yet my uninformed guess is that ebola puts high density urban centers at more risk than rural areas, which is another way of saying, if this is true, that Obama is putting his own voter base at serious physical risk by his Ebola policies.
Hmm... Reichstag Fire, Obama Style?
Strawman argument at its finest. The flu does not emanate from Africa, Ebola does, and by restricting flights from Africa Ebola can be contained. The flu can not be stopped by halting any flights.
What that evening meeting shows is that the American people, rousing themselves finally, understand that the president will not do anything to stop Ebola from coming here, and now have little or no confidence in him and his regime.
This is so serious that a meeting to deal with it has forced Barry in to a 20 hour work week this week.
And one of the most evil human beings that's ever lived. I still have trouble believing America was stupid enough to elect this Satanist POS, not once but twice.
You’re exactly right.
CDC pulled their guidance for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) sometime between 0700 and 1500 yesterday, and replaced it with "PPE Recommendations are forthcoming".
Sounds like they had decided what to do.
At 2039 yesterday, they announced that no new guidance would be released last night. As of 1543 today (all EDT), the website still says "PPE Recommendations are forthcoming".
When the book about this event is written, I bet you anything that the new guidelines were pulled because of that meeting, the result being that for more than 24 hours, the CDC has NO guidance about PPE for health care workers.
How could such a thing be possible???
Here's a theory: The professionals now know that body suits and useable total face protection, with a decon step before removal, are required. However, if that is issued as CDC guidance, then the answer to question one of the CDC Ebola FAQ must be changed:
(Question) Are U.S. hospitals ready to care for patients with Ebola virus disease (EVD)?
(Answer) Yes any U.S. hospital that is following CDC's infection control recommendations and can isolate a patient in a private room is capable of safely managing a patient with EVD. CDC recommends that U.S. hospitals isolate the patient in a private room and implement standard, contact, and droplet precautions.
If CDC declares that BL-4 type precautions are needed for patient care (which is clear), then the answer "any US hospital" is wrong.
And if THAT is wrong, then the policy of allowing West Africans incubating EVD to enter the country without quarantine and have free movement in the interior is also wrong - and the White House is not ready to acknowledge that.
Hence the promised PPE recommendations are not available yet, 24 hours after the old ones were pulled.
Boy oh boy...Obola is going to need another vacation by December at this rate...You just have to feel for the guy...
A salient corrupt Tyrant, without documentation,
is IGNORED, just like the pandemics of viruses
he has inflicted by Quartering against the American
public and their children for their Tea Party.
In the 1770’s there were men and women in America,
and not the sheep eager to die by the Tyrant’s hands,
guns, and imported plagues, as today.
