A new group called Prosecutors Against Gun Violence has formed to find solutions to gun violence in the U.S. NPR's Arun Rath speaks with attorneys and co-chairs Cyrus Vance Jr. and Mike Feuer.

Forgot. NPR. Our tax dollars at work. Nice huh?
how about Universal Firearms Education?
This may be in response to the increase (at least here in CO) in the number of lawyers who specialize in defending CCW holders and those who use guns in legal defense of their lives and property.
Free seminars are regularly available, and with membership, ‘free’ defense attorneys will represent you. They will be with you, and guide you, through the police questioning all the way to civil lawsuits.
Meant to add this;
Convictions of those who use guns in their own legal defense is necessary for gun controllers to stay in existence.
That’s what these folks are going to try and do, help convict those who legally kill those who would do them harm.
What is “Gun Violence”?
I know there is a problem with gang violence, violent illegals, and violent Muslims — but when has there ever been a violent gun?
Maybe lawbreakers, criminals and political correctness are most of the problem....
There’s no way they’re going to succeed in this quixotic adventure, unless somehow they can bring back a society that knew respect for the law, nuclear families and a sense of morality founded upon belief in a supreme being. Gun violence isn’t a cause; it’s an effect.
Thanks for pointing out that nonsensical term. Anytime I see/hear somebody using it, I know exactly who I’m dealing with and that reason has left the room.
1. How about energetically prosecuting armed robbers who use firearms in the commission of violent crimes? Give them the maximum legal sentence, with no possibility of parole.
2. How about energetically prosecuting rapists who use firearms in the commission of violent crimes? Give them the maximum legal sentence, with no possibility of parole.
3. How about energetically prosecuting gang members who use firearms in the commission of violent crimes? Give them the maximum legal sentence, with no possibility of parole.
4. How about infringing on the God-given rights of ordinary Americans, who use firearms for hunting, for recreation, and defend themselves, their families, and their country against all enemies?
My guess is that “Prosecutors” Against Gun Violence will oppose suggestions 1-3 and enthusiastically support #4.
Simple solution: Anyone convicted of a crime involving a weapon of any kind is given the death sentence, & until that sentence is carried out, he/she will work hard labor.
Man firing his lawyer.
First thing I’d do is change the title. There is no lawyer alive that makes a living at it that does anything for free.
They are all looking for a payday.
I’d call that a Plus!
And when you’re in a town or city like Austin, Albuquerque, San Francisco or NYC, then what/
Exactly who gets to determine the meaning of “crime involving a weapon”? Until, we stop accepting the premise of the left that weapons have some moral intent, then there is no argument to win.
The article was nothing more than a few guys patting themselves on the back saying they are against gun violence. We are all against violence whether it is with hands, objects or whatever. If these prosecutors would actually do their jobs and stop gangs in their cities, we would all be a lot safer.
Let me guess..
Defense Attorneys want to blame society for their clients criminal actions?
If we had better criminal control, there would be less gun violence.
Lol! I remember that one!
