Democrat Political Hack Named Ebola Czar

RUSH: So, how many of you still doubt me, that everything this administration does is a political calculation? How many of you still doubt me on that? So we now have an Ebola czar. There was a clamor for an Ebola czar, and we've got an Ebola czar, and he doesn't know the first thing about medicine or health. All he knows is fisticuff politics.

So the Regime is making my case for me. Here we have Ebola, and as Rand Paul said, "It's is much more contagious than even AIDS." And AIDS was, back in its heyday, the panic era of AIDS back in the eighties, it was deadly. It was considered deadly, and as Rand Paul said, "You can get Ebola at a cocktail party." It's different. And yet, the Regime has nominated a czar. I'm gonna give you a little secret, too. We already have a n Ebola czar. Her name is Lurie. You just haven't heard anything about her.

We already have an Ebola czar. We have somebody who has been working for a lot of years preparing for just this kind of thing. She has a budget, she has a staff, and you've not heard about her, and you won't hear about her because the Ebola czar is a politician. His name is Ron Klain. Name ring a bell? (interruption) Algore. Exactly right. Trusted and knowledgeable staff on the case.

"Klain is highly regarded at the White House as a good manager with excellent relationships both in the administration and on Capitol Hill. His supervision of the allocation of funds in the stimulus act ... is respected in Washington." This guy is a money spender. Ron Klain was in charge of determining who got what in the Porkulus bill. Ron Klain does political payoffs. Ron Klain determined which unions got the money and how many shovel-ready jobs and school repairs and road repairs didn't get the money. He's pure, 100% politics. He has no experience in any health field, other than staying alive in Washington politics. He has no experience in any health or medical related industry, field, area of research, exploration. Zip, zero, nada.

Why, even Jacob Tapper at CNN indicates, acknowledges that Ron Klain "does not have any extensive background in health care but the job is regarded as a managerial challenge." See? Yeah, and you know why? 'Cause there's gonna be a lot of money devoted. When you have a new czar, you're gonna be spending a lot of money. You're gonna be appropriating funds. Who better than the guy who doled out nearly a trillion dollars of Obama stimulus.

He does not have one day's worth of experience or background in health care. He's a former chief-of-staff to Vice President Joe Bite Me and also to then-Vice President Algore. Ron Klain was one of those supervising the Algore effort in the Florida recount here back in 2000. At the moment Ron Klain is "currently President of Case Holdings and General Counsel of Revolution, an investment group." He's a lawyer to boot. "He has clerked for the U.S. Supreme Court and headed up Gore's effort during the 2000 Florida recount."

Now, if we can trust the Wikipedia entry on this guy, it says that Ron Klain went to Harvard Law, where he was editor of the Harvard Law Review. So he's certain to be an expert on everything, like Obama, 'cause that's what Obama was. He went on to clerk for Supreme Court Justice Byron White, then worked on Capitol Hill where he was the chief counsel of Joe Bite Me's Senate Judiciary Committee during the Clarence Thomas Supreme Court nominations. Does that tell you anything? (interruption) If he worked for Bite Me during the Clarence Thomas hearings, it also means he is a conservative, slash, Republican attack dog.

Pure politics, folks. I mean, over and over, time and time again, I practically bleed trying to get people to believe me, that everything going on with this administration and the Democrat Party is political, first, foremost, and always. Whatever this crisis or any other crisis, the only, I mean really, the only thing that is really, really cared about is the political opportunity presented by the chaos.

Now, they're gonna do a great job of making you think that this czar is a very, very compassionate guy and cares about you and your family, just like all the other Democrats do. He's gonna do everything he can to stop the spread of Ebola. He's gonna do everything he can to be fair about it. He's gonna do everything he can to be politically correct about it.

But make no mistake, this is just pure politics. You know, even the Drive-Bys, we have a ban on MSNBC on this program, but I got an e-mail today from a friend, said, "Even the sycophants at MSNBC are questioning why somebody who is so obviously drenched in politics is in charge of Ebola." But we do have a czar.

RUSH: By the way, folks, the new Ebola czar, Ron Klain is also who gave us Solyndra, over the objection of the auditors. Part of the stimulus, Ron Klain decided upon it.

Please call congress and tell them that we must be deadly serious about containing Ebola by strict quarantine within the United States and from infected nations. This is our right and our duty and it is THEIR duty to protect US.

I believe decisive response is urgent because you can’t put this Ebola genie back in the bottle once it gets out. It is a fire, it consumes all the fuel it can get and the fuel is people. The only way to stop a fire is to block it from the fuel or cool it with water. A vaccine or medicine to treat Ebola would be the water and we don’t have reliable, enough or any.

Every possible measure must be taken to stop the spread before draconian measures are imposed. What is being done now is sloppy. We are walking a dangerous road. The threat is blossoming by the day if not hour. Almost every hour there is some new Ebola development and none of them are good. This is a serious and potentially deadly event. Unchecked it could destroy or weaken the United States and facilitate our destruction by others. It has that potential for every country and that is why so many are responding with such strict quarantines. These consequences, no matter how small the probabilities, demand a full effort and significant response.

Ebola is being spread here in the United States right now. First Texas, then Ohio then? Terror is an excellent weapon. It disrupts, confuses, paralyzes and destroys a society. Many others and we on FR have speculated that terrorists may spread Ebola. How do you that remember 9/11 feel right now compared to what you felt then? Do you want to gather your loved ones near you to protect them? I do. Even more than I did on September 11, 2001! Isn’t this passive response by this administration accomplishing the very same things a terrorist would want?
When something is being done that makes as little sense as what Obama is doing there has to be some other reason. I leave it to you dear reader to draw your own conclusions as to the reasons.
What is happening now is insane. It makes no sense at all. For example the head of CDC says: “Stopping travel from Africa won’t do any good because you have to get people into Africa to fight Ebola.” “You can’t get Ebola from an infected person on a bus but an infected person should never be on a bus because he can infect others.” “Blocking travel from infected countries would damage their fragile economies.” What about ours? What about our safety? What about resources we have paid for that should be protecting us?

Even the most despotic dictatorship in Africa has acted to protect his nation by strict quarantine and stopping travel from infected countries. Even CDC, the UN and WHO advocate and credit strict quarantine for nipping the spread of Ebola in the bud at the source in places like Senegal and Nigeria where both have had faster and more successful outbreak controls than we have had here. 35 countries have stopped travel of people from infected West African countries. It is so obvious even a child could understand it so why is it OK for people from infected countries to travel here?
