And they left 2% unexplained. Make of that what you will.
In the case of the late Mr. Duncan, even the old 21-day period won't support an all-clear until Oct 29. This new 42-day WHO posture suggests we won't really know until late November.
And of course his known victims have reset that clock to sometime in December.
Propagation of this infection is just slow enough to keep the complacent complacent, but it's inexorable and geometric unless deliberate and intensive contact tracing up&down is done, along with quarantine. And, of course, the inflow of new case risks by air must be stopped. Nigeria (with help from Firestone) figured this out, and may have arrested the epidemic there.

"For instance, a 1977 study of an outbreak in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo found Ebola in the semen of one survivor 61 days after the onset of his disease. And a 1999 study found the virus in an Ebola survivor's semen 82 days after he first became ill. That study recommended that survivors use condoms for "at least" three months after contracting the disease."
Well, THAT's helpful....

Obama was kissing nurses 26-days after they were exposed.
Whoops.

No one truly knows anything about anything. In light of that, would not the prudent thing be to shut down all contact, all travel to and from, just to err on the side of caution? I know that I am just a dumb f**k hick from Wyoming County, New York, but that’s how it seems to me.

The US should order all Americans out of the West African hot zone, and then stop all air flights to and from America except for CDC personnel.
The dems are so enamored with everything European you'd think that they would do exactly what the Europeans are doing.

Then he needs to be informed of the new recommendation.
But even if he attended a briefing, it’s unlikely that his lapdog Frieden would provide up to date information on the true hazards of this virus. Frieden seems to have confused EHF (ebola) with HIV.

AFAIK, the usual recommendation for quarantine (any disease) is TWICE the incubation period.

That doesn’t seem to be the motivation in this case, as they are citing data for positive test results beyond 21 days.
We all need to learn whatever we can about this virus, and the strain involved in this outbreak, because it’s clear that the CDC is utterly clueless (or something even more sinister).
