AUSTIN, Texas -- Houston Mayor Annise Parker has backed down from the subpoenas the City of Houston issued to several area pastors, Breitbart Texas has learned.
Breitbart Texas reported earlier about the controversy, stemming from litigation challenging the city's anti-discrimination ordinance and subpoenas asking the pastors for the content of their sermons, speeches and communications with church members. Texas Senator Ted Cruz weighed in, firmly supporting the pastors in their efforts to fight the subpoenas, while Mayor Parker initially remained adamant that the city had the right to request those records. Despite posting comments on Twitter just hours before that seemed to indicate she would continue to fight this issue, she told a Houston radio station that she has changed her mind.

When does this person go up for reelection, or has “it” been granted perpetual emergency powers to deal with threats to “its” Party?
It does happen. Although I usually post without thinking much, there is a lot of fun in sounding deranged.
I think I will get a little sleep eventually. lol
Hey,
The stupids of houston elected this rag knowing she was a les bean and nuts.
I need to get the kids up in five minutes.
I got to get the nephew up in an hour and a half.... so no sleep until the school bus is gone.
Jake is trying to get me to give him more food.
She retreats after Cruz confronts her. Why don’t other Republicans stand up for what they believe? What a bunch of wimps.
temporary retreat, the left never ever gives up
Not sure when but I believe one day soon the American people will take a violent stand against the tyrants.
Read the wording of the backing down. Couldn’t be more mealymouthed if they tried.
Sounds like she hasnt backed down. Only that shes going to change the wording of the subpoenas.
The gay activists would love to gain control of what is preached from pulpits, censoring teachings that homosexual behavior is sin. They would like to use the power of the state and the legal system to quash any talk that homosexuality is not normal.
Houston is just a trial to see how far they get away with this agenda.
Sounds like she hasnt backed down. Only that shes going to change the wording of the subpoenas.
predictable
Same thing for the City Attorney who signed the subpoenas without reading and approving them .
This issuance of Subpoenas opened up litigation, and the Churches and Pastors should sue for violation of Civil rights , and Constitutional violations.
The only way to end this harassment is to confront it head on, in the courts, and the Mayor and City Attorney need to be held accountable.
Maybe next time the City Attorney will read what he is signing, and since he didn't , he demonstrated that he is unfit for office too .. doofus !
Militant homos like this don’t want ‘tolerance’.
They want acceptance and validation.(by force)
Bravo Zulu I’m in
I fear that nothing less than final termination, with extreme prejudice, will start to turn things around.
