Money Morning
Keith Fitz-Gerald writes: My sources tell me that Ebola is probably the most serious threat to humanity since the Bubonic Plague of the Middle Ages. Already it has spread to a dozen countries, including the U.S., and more than 4,000 people are dead. According to Dr. Bruce Aylward of the World Health Organization (WHO), mortality rates are rising and now sit at 70%.
This outbreak is more grim proof that Trend No. 6 War, Terrorism, and Ugliness is indeed a growth industry.
Thats the next trend well be discussing, though its easily my least favorite both personally and professionally. But its very, very important. So please stay tuned for that in the weeks ahead.
In the meantime, Ebola has the potential to be a serious market event before its brought under control. So we need to talk about it logically no hype, no conspiracies, and no nonsense. I mention those things because theyre all emotional inputs that can cloud your thinking and have a seriously negative impact on your money.
Here are the tactics you need on hand for the Ebola market event.

I thought global warming aka climate change was The WORST!
No matter what, there is always a buck to be made.
Buy when blood is in the streets.
(Nathan Rothschild meant this literally)
Is Ebola going to cause another of the massive October stock market crashes that Wall Street is famous for? At one point on Wednesday, the Dow was down a staggering 460 points. It ultimately closed down just 173 points, but this was the fifth day in a row that the Dow has declined. And of course Ebola is one of the primary things that is being blamed for this stunning stock market drop.
I thought Obama was.
Sorry, but I don't buy the End of The World as We Know It talk.
The worldwide Spanish Flu epidemic took more lives that all the casualties of World War I, WHICH ACCOUNTED FOR SOME 16 MILLION DEATHS. The influenza epidemic that swept the world in 1918 killed an estimated 50 MILLION people. One fifth of the world’s population was attacked by this deadly virus. Within months, it had killed more people than any other illness in recorded history.
The three-day fever did not kill directly, but the pneumonia which followed did. Medical facilities at the time were overwhelmed, and the disease did not just strike once and pass, it maintained a large pool of infected and also kept mutating, so earlier immunities were useless.
In one year, the average life expectancy in the United States dropped by 12 years.
And why is this pandemic not widely studied today? Do we have to learn all these lessons all over again?
Extra gloves, bleach, and masks are on my list tomorrow.
Hysterics undermines credibility.
I wouldn’t be traveling by air anytime soon.

Niether is the guy who wrote the article.
I'm reminded of my early 60's trip to Wall Street...someone pointed out to me the chipped marble on some of the buildings where someone went on a shooting spree there. I think he said in the 20's.
Well, I,d hazard a guess. It would be bad and it would take 20 years to recover. A buying opportunity!
I restocked the gloves today.
LOL, I also bought some fresh ham hocks to season all those dried beans and rice I already have.
(Ahem) I don't have 20 years.
My brother knows a guy that owns all sorts of really fancy cars. After about the sixth time of driving up in a different Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, etc. he asked him what he did.
“Oh, I’m retired now. But I used to make latex gloves. But I sold my company. As for the cars, I went a little crazy. The first year after I sold the company I bought 28 cars at the Barrett-Jackson auction”
My brother did a web search on him. He had just happened to start the company right before AIDS. Ended up with numerous factories around the world. People are ALWAYS going to be buying gloves. (Examine one person, throw it away.)
Neat story. :)
“Do we have to learn all of these lessons all over again?”
Obviously. Rush had a great rant today on how EASILY the voting public went back to Socialism after Reagan.
We see what actually WORKS, then take the path of least resistance.
Simply amazing to me, but what do I know? ;)
Only if you live more than 20 years.
I don't know why those nurses contracted it and not the blasted enablers otherwise known as his family...
