As bipartisan calls to block travel from Ebola-stricken countries increase, the White House remains adamant that a commercial travel ban is simply not happening.
[A travel ban] is something that is not on the table at this point, White House press secretary Josh Earnest explained on Wednesday, claiming shutting down commercial travel would prevent the expeditious flow of personnel and equipment into the region.
So thats why, right now, a travel ban is not on the table, Earnest later reiterated.
On Monday, former surgeon general Richard Carmona recommended that a travel ban remain on the table. (Carmona ran as a Democratic Senate candidate in Arizona during the 2012 election.)
Need to get Obola a fiddle....
Until we are all on THIS table?
Straw man. What is sought is a protective quarantine, not a ban.
Nope, I bet he’s saving the travel ban until election day and it will be we the people who won’t be allowed to travel.
All of their arguments against a travel ban are specious.
“How would a travel ban FROM these places prevent us from sending people and humanitarian aid there?”
The same way hard drives conveniently crash at IRS.
The decision not to impose travel ban and/or quarantine will go down as one of the worst mistakes of the Obama Presidency.
Already 2 Americans have been infected because an Ebola carrier (who lied to CBP) was allowed to enter the country. How many more must die before the public demands action?
Does the White House want a deal ,you vote for Democrats and the WH will give you a Ban , LOL
It sounds better than it reads. Say it fast enough, and it works with the lofos. So far, 67% want a travel ban. 33% of the lofos are sticking with the Commie-in-Chief.
Good. The more Obama/the Dems continue to refuse to enforce a travel ban, the more the sheeple will turn on them, and it will be reflected at the ballot box. For most folks, this ebola reaction is visceral.
(and the ears fit the sissyboy to a half-simian T)
There’s no room on a table filled with lobster, kobe beef and ice cream.
Convenience stores, gas pump handles,...
No doubt CDC Director Frieden proceeded to explain how it’s imperative NOT to stop west African flights from infected countries because that will somehow accelerate the spread of Ebola in AFRICA, and the ONLY way the U.S. will be safe is if we cure everyone in AFRICA of Ebola.
I kid you not! Frieden said all of this on Megyn Kelly last night. The most interesting matter of course is that he spilled the beans that the Obama administration is actually more concerned about the people of Africa than the citizens of the U.S.:

The problems with things like Ebola is that they grow exponentially. Even if Ebola grows slowly to start with, unfortunately, we ain’t seen nuttin yet. Just wait until flu and norovirus season hits to see what a completely paralyzed nation that battens down the barricades REALLY looks like as millions have symptoms that are much like how Ebola starts off! The trenches of our medical system are woefully unprepared for something like this. And thank you, President Obola for your “fundamental transformation” when flu season hits! Oh, and PLEASE let’s keep those West African shuttles flying back and forth, since obviously it would do no good anyway with your open borders policy.
Oh, and everyone? Be sure to vote a straight Democrat ticket in November: they really DO care about you folks, ya’ll hear? After all:
“Now, I am not on the ballot this fall,” Obama stressed. “... But make no mistake: My policies are on the ballot — every single one of them.” (Including unrestricted West African air flights.)
