What's up with that? Is that guy getting ready to shoot a virus? Or is he expecting a gas attack at his friendly shooting range?

He's got some bare skin showing, btw, he's dead meat in a chemical attack.

The Airborne are precisely the wrong people to send. Back in the 90's, Canada sent our 1st Airborne to Somalia on a humanitarian mission. What ensued was a total disaster. Our Airborne were trained to be our first line of OFFENCE. These soldiers were highly trained killers. They were not nice guys. Why they were sent on a humanitarian mission is a lesson in stupidity. After an unfortunate incident there, the 1st Airborne was totally disbanded. What a waste.

We already are recovering from two cases of “nation building” and can’t see that we don’t have the ability to salvage failed states like Liberia. They are sending our troops there because they can’t refuse the orders like our diplomats, aid workers and CDC people. The LIberian military is undisciplined and unlikely to be reliable if there is civil unrest and our troops will be stuck with the angry crowds.
Once again, Hagle goes along, but I’m sure the advice from the Generals is to not go.

As noted here:

The “preparedness” will be totally inadequate.

Eric in the Ozarks:" This is beyond stupid."

If any troops were to go to Ebola countries
they should be "MASH Units",fully medically trained, who volunteer to go, only !

If we send anyone in the Military, it should be our Chem / Bio warfare treatment and control units.

Ebola / Mardburg is the basis for many bio weapons

'Ebola is a different problem set that the division hasn't (faced) before,' said Major General Gary Volesky, who will soon head to Liberia along with soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division.

No "boots on the ground" in Iraq for the war our troops understand. Three thousand pair of boots on the ground in Liberia. Obama is both a moron and evil, and I have trouble telling whether stupidity or malice is his dominant trait.

Air Assault Divisions are not designed for this....not even trained for this. And any training, pre-deployment, is actually a joke.

They can train skiing, but how many will fall down because ‘training doesn’t equal experience’?

Falling down with ebola, though, is a bit different when it comes to standing back up.

from FReeper “Jim Noble” in another thread:

the attack rate among doctors and nurses is HIGHER
than in the general population, This is an important
clue that must be explained.

Doctors and nurses wear PPE; the general population
doesn’t.

The PPE gets contaminated in routine care. When they
take it off they get a few virions on their skin.
