Former Democratic pollster Pat Caddell blasted the Republican Party for not making the president’s planned executive amnesty a national issue

“It's amazing to me. I've never seen a party that doesn't grab opportunities thrown at it like this,” he declared. And “they [Republicans] should be taking this issue and making it a national referendum issue against every Democrat, and for every Republican in the country.”
He speculated that Republicans have not made executive amnesty an issue because “they have a lot of donors, and a lot of their lobbyists telling them they want this. The Chamber of Commerce wants open borders, the Wall Street Journal wants open borders.”

At least in the UK, there’s a party (UKIP) that wants to stop the immigration tide there decisively.....
They don’t want to seem to critical, lest they appear like hypocrites when they or their party embraces amnesty later.

We don’t have to run against it; the US population is already against it. Sometimes you just sit back and shut up. It looks like Baghdad will fall before the election (at least more heads will roll). Losing a war just before an election is a great October surprise.

Caddell was Jimmy Carter’s pollster. He had a change of heart a while back.
The Republicans are cowards and weasels. They aren’t even running againt Obama, nor reminding people of much of anything that would fire them up. They act like they want to get this election over with and not win too big. I live in a Republican area, and other than my boss putting Obama toilet paper in the men’s room, nobody even notices there’s an election going on and the few people I talk to who know don’t care about voting. The Republicans are believed to be useless squids. The only thing they stand for this election is not being the Democrats, and even that isn’t by much. I can’t believe we are in October of an election year and nobody cares, especially not the Republican Party.
