Hours after an interview with The Courier-Journals editorial board, Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes was blasted by pundits for failing to answer questions about her previous support of Democratic President Barack Obama.
With three weeks until Election Day, national pundits are casting Grimes non-answers as an unforced fumble that could change the election narrative in the final hours.
NBC News political director Chuck Todd told a panel on MSNBCs Morning Joe that Grimes disqualified herself with the ridiculous answer.
The Washington Post called the 40 seconds of dodging the question painful, adding there was no reason to do this.
CNN called the Grimes response a stumbling block that could continue to force the question upon her in the waning days.
This is what happens when you run a campaign thats basically based on saying as little as possible about your ideas on things like energy and healthcare and what she would actually do in Washington, said Alex Burns of Politico on the show.

It was only last summer when President Obama spoke to Miss Grimes and said, “You like takin Selfies and stuff with me now, but just wait. I see a day when you will deny you know me three, maybe even four times. You will flat out be speechless!” Grimes purred her reply “Me speechless, Mr. President? Surely you jest! Besides, I could never deny knowing you, nor would I ever, ever, EVER want to! We are Best Friends Forever! “...........Fast forward to October 10th, see Drudge Report and laugh.
I guess Chuck Todd is wanting us to believe he is fair and balanced?
It would be a first. Watch him take it back?
It makes you wonder that, no matter the legitimate complaints against Grimes, a lot of this is being orchestrated by Karl Rove, to desperately save the pasty white butt of Mitch McConnell.
Because all things considered, the GOP-e would spend a billion dollars of other people’s money to keep him in office, not for the United States, but to keep their internationalist, multi-national corporate paymasters in the corridors of power.
This being said, it would almost be impossible for Grimes, as a freshman Democrat senator, to be as harmful to our nation as is McConnell.
The Commie won’t like this. She should watch her back.
I’m shocked that a crow didn’t caw three times . . . she denied the Kenmessiah.
Is it anyone’s business whom anyone votes for? I don’t care if it’s a Republican or Democrat, everyone’s vote is sacred and, if they choose to keep it so, secret.
