Now read it again. And again. What this cones down to is that in order to be a ‘good Muslim’ by this whack job theory, A Muslim has to reject the very teachings of their faith.
This is nothing but White Liberals interpreting and re-defining Islam to better spin it for political gain.
I agree. This whole debate was just propaganda for liberal consumption. It was the "see, we can disagree" demonstration that is easily staged in the presence of beheadings. The argument is not about Islam but about how to identify "good Muslims" and "bad Jihadists" as if that is the only problem to be resolved.

The concentric circle principle is also the foundation of liberal opposition to Christianity. Curiously the same theory of all things does not apply to their own position.
Liberalism is nieve Leninism, best exemplified by Obama. The fawning adoration of his hole-liness is based on his ability to apply regurgitated communist principles in every context. This makes him a genius, capable of lowering the oceans and cleaning the air.
The simple fact that Obama’s deeply ingrained ideology bears no application to reality is his undoing.
My theory on why Harris and Maher (both committed Leftists) are pretending to criticize Islam is because some of the liberal hedonists have finally grown to understand that Islam wouldn’t exactly tolerate their hedonism. Maher and Harris are trying to shift the Overton Window into saying, “All reasonable criticism of Islam comes from the Left, criticism from the Right is just racism.”, thus keeping these Leftists from becoming libertarians or genuine moderates.
Note that Harris is trying to make the empirically false “not all Muslims!” argument, and both Harris and Maher will also make the empirically false “but also Christians” arguments. Both arguments are deliberately constructed towards ignoring the millions of Stealth Muslims who will happily implement Sharia and special rights for Islam the moment they gain power.
