Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) thinks it's time for Republicans to let go of their efforts to repeal Obamacare.
Speaking to an NBC affiliate in Portland on Thursday, Collins argued that the GOP has missed its chance to get rid of the health care law entirely. She noticeably did not say whether she would vote to repeal or defund Obamacare, despite being asked.
"You know at this point, I think were past that," Collins said. "I think it wouldve been much better if thered been a bipartisan bill crafted in 2008 that had provisions that both parties could agree on, such as prohibiting insurance companies from discriminating against people with pre-existing conditions."

Remember Cruz's warning about the bait-and-switch this time last year?
Cruz mocks Senate GOP colleagues' commitment to defunding ObamaCare
When he launched his filibuster, the GOP-E poo-bahs all said, "No, no! That's the wrong strategy...let's just get through the next election, take control of the Senate, and we'll deal with it then."
So, now, here we are....and it's too late, they say
This guy here was prescient in the extreme...from last November:
Establishment Republicans Dont Want to Repeal Obamacare, They Just Want to Fix it Up and Control It
RINO twins power, activate!
Just exactly when was the right time to defund Obamacare? Hasn’t the House passed umpteen Bills to do just that. They’ve all died on Harry Reid’s desk.
What an embaressment
B/S! Elect Cruz and wipe this unconstitutional Marxist/fascist POS off the books!! FUSC!!
The House can defund it all by its lonesome.
Why waste the time trying to repeal it? Stop the flow of taxpayer dollars and let it collapse under its own weight. Once those 50 million illegal alien invaders are added to the ObamaCare rolls, we aren’t going to have the money to keep Barry’s FreeloaderCare going anyway.
Why do what the people want to do? In fact, why even HAVE a democratic republic? Government knows best, after all.
Republicans could have said that about slavery and Jim Crow, but they didn't. Republicans could have said that about Plessy v. Ferguson, but they didn't. Republicans have had 50 years to say that about Roe v. Wade, but we didn't. Why should we say we're "past that" when facing a law as economically destructive and morally repugnant as Obamacare? You don't surrender to evil, you fight until you win or die trying. Surprisingly often, good triumphs over evil when we don't back down.
"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"
It’s not too late to repeal Susan Collins.
Another big wave of people are about to lose their healthcare coverage, while premiums are spiking through the roof. There has never been a better time to repeal this increasingly hated, dysfunctional, destructive boondoggle.
I am afraid it is too late this election cycle.
Anyone expecting the GOP to NOT defend Obama’s and Romney’s
agendae is a fool.
The GOP IS dedicated to statism. FOREVER.
She is a liberal whore. If we shut down this crappy government it will be the happiest day of my life. Stomp and Romp.
I didn’t say anything about my expectations. I was just making a general observation.
Time to throw the b* tch out on her Obamahole.
(No longer being nice.)
Die, RINOs, Die!
If not this cycle, then when? Yes, it's a rhetorical question.
People need to understand that this law is not going away. It's too late and the political will does not exist to repeal it.
Get used to tinkering on the margins to pacify certain political groups but no substantial change or repeal.
It’s never too early to resign Collins. You and other Liberals like you are the reason why I often vote Independent instead of for Republicans similar to you and your GOP-E agendas. One think I dislike more than a Liberal DEM office holder is a Republican Liberal Office Holder who lacks the ethics to switch parties and become a Democrat.
It is never too late.
The left never gives up, why should we? The left can tear down a 5,000 year old institution that is the bedrock of civilization and we surrender after a few years?
Do you think the left surrenders even after losing multiple times in the Supreme Court? Never!
