Latino group hits Hagan, Pryor could be next

Latinos' furor with red-state Senate Dems escalated this week when the grassroots advocacy group Presente Action began running radio ads against Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.), targeting her push against executive action on immigration. The Spanish-language ads will air for a week on two stations and tells listeners: "Senator Hagan voted with the most anti-immigrant senators in Congress in support of the continued deportations of our community." Hagan, locked in one of the most competitive Senate races this cycle, has for months publicly resisted Obama moving unilaterally on immigration and that has earned her the wrath of groups like Presente - which is encouraging Latinos to vote against Democratic senators who have spoken out against executive action.

But the problem for Presente Action is money. The size of the ad buy against Hagan is paltry - it clocks in somewhere in the four figures, the group said - and they're trying to raise more cash to run ads. "If we're able to raise more money, we'll focus on other states too," Presente's managing director, Mariana Ruiz Firmat, said. Their next target would be Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), who has also publicly opposed executive action.

They're opposed to executive action for illegal immigrants, and attacking Democrats. Sure, it's for positioning as moderates, but (1) there targets are only falsely positioning as moderates, and (2) their audience is strictly Spanish-language, so highlighting the alleged moderation of these liberals won't help the Democrats through reverse logic among English-language moderates.

Also: I’m not saying FReepers SHOULD; I’m only asking the question because I’m actually undecided on whether this could be a good thing.

Surprising that this Latino group, or any group for that matter, would actually believe that these red state Dims oppose Obama on executive amnesty, or anything else for that matter.

Looks like a serious misreading of reality, but it might just help defeat Dims such as Hagan and Pryor. So I hope they raise more money to run their ads.

Just another case of Br'er Rabbit begging Br'er Fox not to throw him into the Briar Patch.

How many Freepers are old enough to remember that story? I've heard it has been banned.

And here’s a real quandary— Tillis is Big Tobacco who loves illegal immigration esp. by Mexs. Because they are the ones who top tobacco, and harvest it and carry it to curing and to market.

Very hard to be a true Founders conservative with this kind of duality and lying. But... Hagan is a fraud for sure for obamaumao.

Now the headline has absolutely nothing to do with why any FReepers would be interested in it. And you even included in front of the topical headline another unrelated story headline that just happened to be on the same page? It’s not like I didn’t include “Latino group hits Hagan, Pryor could be next,” in the headline!
