Tuesdays second debate between U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan and state House Speaker Thom Tillis picked up right where the candidates left off when they met last month, but with far more vigorous and direct criticism of each other.

I guess whoever you plan to vote for wins. It doesn’t matter who wins these debates - it means nothing at the polls.
How do you “pull a punch” in a pillow fight?
The choice is between Dim and Dim Lite. Tillis — hand picked by GOPe and Tokyo Rove. The GOPe gave us a losing hand.
The shame of it is, I think Tillis would be great, if he was his own man and lived up to what he professes to be his ideals. But he has given every indication that he will carry the GOPe water and stand at the front of the line to vote for amnesty and all the other anti-American planks of the Dim agenda.
I didn’t see it and I don’t care. A failure to go to the polls and vote for Tillis is a vote FOR the Obama/Reid/Pelosi Cartel!

I didn’t see the Debate but I read the entire article and comments that followed. Sounds like the RINO came across as unsure of what he believes and mealy-mouth. I get the impression that HAGan, whom I prefer to call the Hag, kicked RINO’s butt. That is a shame. She is such a witch, or word that rhymes with “witch”. She favors killing little unborn babies AFTER 20 weeks. She is a late-term abortion supporter and an Obama a** kisser.I can’t stand her.
Full Agreement. Stand Up North Carolina!
“I didnt see it and I dont care. A failure to go to the polls and vote for Tillis is a vote FOR the Obama/Reid/Pelosi Cartel!”
Amen to that. This is war with our own country and our own party, but IMHO I totally agree. Let’s start there and work from within the party. Keep calling the NRSC and the NRCC and the Republicans and tell them to DUMP ROVE. He’s a disaster once again for us.
Let the flagrant flamers will be here to flame us in 3, 2, 1......
Remember the Charlotte Disturber’ is a liberal rag. Not one Observer among that paper.

if Hagan wins, its going to be the pro pot libertarian candidate that is polling 7% of the vote....
This was an easy pick up for the Rs...but true to form the masters from DC got involved and found the worst candidate in the country to run against the Hag!!!
I watched the debate on CSpan. She came across as strident, petty and mean. I don’t know much about Tillis, but as an outside observer I thought he did a great job of hangng Obama around her neck. At least 10 times he quoted Obama “my policies are on the ballot” and then followed up with her 96% support of his policies.
Ah, thank you for the insights. I appreciate them.
Hagan is well below 50% in most of the polls so she is hardly a shoo-in. Is the number of undecideds because many voters don't know Tillis, but almost all know Hagan? If they know her, and like her, they probably know that they are going to vote for her. The deciding factor may be how much anti-incumbent and anti-Obama feeling there is going to be in North Carolina on November 4.
“..if he was his own man and lived up to what he professes to be his ideals..”
He always has
“..If they know her, and like her, they probably know that they are going to vote for her..”
Do they know a vote for Hagan is a vote for Obama and his policies?
The third and final debate is Thursday night in Lexington.
Libertarian candidate Sean Haugh will be a participant.
The U.S. Senate candidates will meet again at 7 p.m. Thursday. The debate
will air on WECT in Wilmington, which will offer it to other stations. It will
be moderated by WECT reporter and anchor Jon Evans and is being sponsored by
WECT and the League of Women Voters of the Lower Cape Fear.
Watching the debate, and having watched Hagan over past decades, one was struck by her new and obvious attempt to appear "school-marmish" (a bow to her bosses in the teachers' unions?), authoritarian, and completely in touch with those whose views she should represent.
Instead, she came off as arrogant, overly aggressive, condescending, even, at times, so bossy she felt the need to tell Stephanopolis how to do his job. Perhaps her robot-like record of imitation of the President may have taken her too far into his lecturing style??
Now, will ordinary North Carolinians mistake that arrogance and condescending attitude toward Tillis as strength and concern for their and their families' personal freedom to "pursue happiness," unburdened by a know-it-all government? Or, will they see her performance for what it was: a well-rehearsed recitation of her campaign attack ads, with no facts to back up the accusations?
Being addressed as "Senator" prior to each question carries a certain advantage in itself, but the title also carries a voting record, and Tillis's consistent use of that 96% voting record for the unpopular President's unpopular policies constituted his best debating point.
From the glasses and suit, to the rehearsed and obnoxiously preachy style of lecturing her opponent for the Office, the Moderator, and the public, the "new" Hagan tried to take the attention off her voting record, the disastrous economic, foreign affairs, and other domestic policies of Obama, including "Obamacare's" upcoming policy cancellations and premium increases which are unpopular to common-sense North Carolinians.
One of Tillis's strongest points may continue to be using her own voice repeating the Obama lie of "If you like your doctor . . . ." and the months of duplicity which went into the Reid/Pelosi construction of that falsehood into the so-called Affordable Care Act which, as it turns out, is anything but, "affordable."
He stated several times that she was on Foreign Relations. He only changed his talking points to Armed Services after Hagan corrected him.
Made all his points in that area vanish. I just don't get how that could be screwed up, his coaching team or he simply didn't know?
I will be voting for him but I sure think there is a better candidate out there.
