What happened was, in the admissions process, they asked Duncan if he’d been to AFRICA. He replied he came from LIBERIA, which all the nurses thought was some other place.
The electronic health records software this cronyist sold them asks not what country, but what continent. This is from Ann Barnhardt, via a nurse who works across the street at a hospital that MOST of the doctors abandoned Presby for due to severely screwed-up Zerocare implementations.
Ah, a data management train wreck.
Sheesh! I wonder if that nurse knows who the Vice President is. That was Hannity's Man on the Street question yesterday.
I read that too. But then I also read this:
Duncan said that he had been in Africa, the statement said. The nurse entered that information in the nursing workflow of the electronic health record.

and this:
Relatives said Duncan told an ER nurse at Presbyterian that he had just come from Liberia. The hospital said in a prepared statement Thursday that he disclosed having been in Africa. If Duncan did not specify Liberia, its unclear whether the hospital asked where in Africa, which has 54 sovereign countries.

So the relatives are saying that he said "Liberia" but the hospital is sticking with the story that he said "Africa".
