Look, I’ll be the very first person to agree that factory farming of chickens is completely inhumane, it truly is, anyone who believes its not is not remotely familiar with it at all.

However, part of the reasons it has gotten so inhumane is because of idiotic groups like this.

You can’t have your chicken barns open, so that fresh air can get in and ventilate, because radical folks like this will show up with video cameras, and film what they view to be abuses... and yes folks some things that go on are without question abuse.

However, because of folks like this filming, chicken barns are not open, so these chickens live their entire lives sweltering and being gagged by the ammonia created by their own waste. So, what is not a great life to begin with is even MORE inhumane.

I will be among the first to advocate laws do need to be changed around the treatment of these animals, but people like this group are just idiots.

Yes, these animals are bred and destined to be slaughtered, however that does not mean they should not be given basic respect while alive. CHicken farming is not what it used to be, it is indeed cruel to the birds, and not just oh they are going to die type cruel I mean they deserve better in their time on this planet type cruel.

With all that said however, this person and the folks and groups like her are just flat out idiots. Their hijinks do nothing to help anyone or anything but themselves.

Good post! There certainly should be controls that ensure animals are treated humanely. I’m 100% on board with that.

The problem with these kinds of idiots is that they aren’t satisfied with more humane treatment of farm animals - they believe that “meat is murder” and want it ended altogether. That’s not a program I’ll be signing up for anytime soon. I have reservations about the way livestock (chickens and pigs, particularly) are treated, enough to make me reconsider where my meat comes from and how much of it I want to eat - but not enough to make me believe that eating meat is inherently immoral.
