Apparently this is a health worker at the hospital who was treating a priest that was flown in with it? She was not a Spanish aid worker in Africa who came to Spain for care.

In the news article is stated:

“Colleagues last night expressed their surprise at news that the nurse, from Galicia in northwest Spain, had contracted the virus, saying that there had been ‘extreme’ measures in place to protect hospital staff.”

Even with extreme measures she caught it. Do you think as this virus spreads, and let’s say has turned airborne, it will become less lethal? I heard there’s a possibility but I don’t know what to think really.

Worst thing is, if you get an outbreak of a thing like this, the last place you want to go is a hospital....for fear of getting it.....i still have nightmares of a friend who caught MRSA in a hospital, it ate her flesh off her leg.

The nurse has become ill within the time period of incubation for Ebola. This means that somehow she failed in keeping proper protocol when caring for the priest, or that the protocol they were using was incorrect in the first place.

If they didn’t want panic they would have already stopped the potential of them coming into the country.

US Govt says there are stringent measures in place to stop Ebola getting into the US...This is the same bunch of clowns that can’t stop immigrant people hanging off trucks coming over the border......Yeah I have faith...NOT.

BBC is reporting they used only LEVEL 2 not LEVEL 4 contamination suits. There are photos of the nurses and they are not wearing the proper protection.

This is the “fox” in the hen house - to use your original phrase.

True. I can’t figure out if Africans would have a shorter incubation due to their viral environment, always fighting off malaria, etc. Essentially the symptoms arise when the body determines there is an infection worth fighting. It is then that the Ebola virus takes advantage of the increased phages and blood flow and spreads into the blood stream. If that happens slower here in the relatively virus free first world, then our incubation will be slower.

Yep, and the same ones who will let traitors fight with issis and come back to the US. I’d strip them of citizenship and label them traitors and pull their passports. Subject them to trial as traitors during time of war.

We know they use extreme measures in general, but we know nothing about her specific practices.

Do we know what level suit they are wearing in Dallas? I thought there was some concern that they might not be operating at a level 4 contamination. Wish I had time to find that right now, but have to run.

The CDC had changed their guidelines, that unless doing more invasive procedures where body fluids would be prevalent, that gloves, mask, gown and goggles were enough protection dealing with an Ebola patient. Yet, whenever you see people flown in on the specially fitted plane, everyone is in the head-to-toe moonsuits. Ken Isaacs from Samaritan’s Purse had testified in front of Congress that Ebola was a disease, where if “even one millimeter of skin is exposed, you will get infected and likely die.”

CDC, with this idiot recommendation is going to get people killed. I surely hope the Healthcare Workers demand Level 4 protection. From what I understand this was adapted from WHO/UN recommendations, so that could be why the nurse was not fully protected.
