In an act of nature that defied the laws of probability, a squirrel seriously injured a bicyclist at the Levis GranFondo charity ride in Sonoma County over the weekend when it ran onto the course and got caught in the spokes of the mans bike, authorities said.

LOL. Thanks for the laugh.
Never say never.
I and a friend were riding along the bayou. We are (were) pretty hard core and do not stop; it's all hustle all the time. Anyway I came around a corner and surprised the squirrel; we did a "you go left/no I'll go left" kinda thing, but when the rubber hit the trail he ended up contacting my tire and he grabbed onto it or attacked it. He rode the tire up to my forks and the poor guy got his head stuck between the fork and the side of the tire.
All this while the bike was in motion and I was clicked into my pedals. Anyway, we all know mtn bike tires have knobs on the treads. Every one of those knobs abraded against the squirrels head and made a "BZZZZZZ!" noise until I braked, stopped, and backed it up a little so he could escape.
It was really funny because I was not a squirrel, although it kinda sickened me to smear an animal like that.
True, but I hoped it could be enjoyed for the humor in the telling of the incident, especially since the guy lived to write about it.
Thanks for posting the whole thing. I only posted the link (reply #3) because I don’t know what things we are allowed to post the entire text of and what things we’re not. I always err on the side of caution in deference to JimRob. Unfortunately, links have a way of disappearing, so by your posting the whole thing, now we have access to it on FR for as long as this thread exists. It’s one of the funniest things I’ve read on the ‘net. I read it every year or so just for the belly laughs. :-D
Oh I surely did, especially the cop thing. If you've contemplated the claws on a squirrel, I did keep wondering how it didn't rip his eyelids to shreds.
