(CNSNews.com) – Vice-President Joe Biden’s stinging assessment that Sunni allies had been “our largest problem” in fueling extremism in Syria – comments for which he has now apologized – are in contrast to remarks he made two years ago when he said the U.S. was “working hand in glove” with those countries on Syria.
Back then, Biden assured Americans that the administration and Sunni nations in the region were closely cooperating in their response to the rebellion against Syrian President Bashar Assad.
“We are working hand in glove with the Turks, with the Jordanians, with the Saudis and with all the people in the region, attempting to identify the people who deserve the help so that when Assad goes – and he will go – there will be a legitimate government that follows on, not an al-Qaida-sponsored government that follows on,” he said during an Oct. 2012 debate against Republican vice-presidential nominee Paul Ryan.

The ironic thing here is that Biden was spot on with his assessment. Crazy Joe just got his hand slapped for speaking the truth. Speaking the truth to our Arab allies is like shining a light on cockroaches—they don’t like it and scurry for cover.
