How many more Thomas Duncans are out there, and how many people will have to die before the Administration shuts down the border???
I understand the urge is to save one’s own life. I just hope if I was in such a precarious state of health, I would be more considerate and mindful of other people, people whose lives I could be ruining unnecessarily. Such raw panic may produce it’s own state of delerium wrapped up in denial.
The Drudge Report is running a report saying that the Dallas DA is considering filing charges against Thomas Eric Duncan. They are investigating whether he knew he had been exposed to the Ebola virus before traveling to Dallas. I read that he was shivering from his infection while sleeping with his girlfriend. Wow!
I’m amazed not one reporter or media person has asked that question of Obama or that Friedtart CDC reject. I would ask what would have to occur for you to ever make the decision to close the border? It is even an option for you at all? If he answers negative, then we remove him from office due to dereliction of duty.
what is the O/U on this guy?
he is on a ventilator.
I give him 3 more days
What does one shout after winning the lottery?
Well, he is now in Critical Condition, so...
If (1) he survives, and (2) goes back to Liberia, there is no way to prove what he knew. Both people in the back seat of that car are dead. He can say whatever he wants.
His behavior indicates that he was indeed ignorant of his condition. He began treatment *way too late* and was even booted out of an ER. He could say just one word - "Ebola" - and he'd be instantly admitted. He did not say that word, and did not insist on immediate treatment. He lost two days. Those wasted days may kill nim now.
Other than “I am quitting my job and opening a ‘Tastee Freeze’ in Tahiti”?
Apparently there is. He is wanted in Liberia on criminal charges; they know he was aware of his lethal condition before he left Liberia.
It is doubtful he will survive to make the trip back, however. The question is, how many other lives will be ruined by his actions?
Based on commentary of this guy’s last two weeks in Liberia...helping this pregnant gal get to the hospital when she was showing Ebola symptoms...I think he knew was out of luck, and just shook the dice to come onto the US, sleep with the girlfriend, and pretend he didn’t have the disease.
The problem with stopping or banning the flights business....if you look at the way this guy got to the US...he flew from Liberia onto Belgium...waited twenty-four hours roughly, and then flew onto Dulles. No one in the Administration can find a way to ban flights from legit countries (Japan, UK, Belgium, etc). The testing method? It’s currently bogus. Of course, what I’d fear is that they develop a simple test which is mandated for all folks entering the US, but requires a six-hour delay and costs each entry-person $300.
Meanwhile, I’d suggest that you settle back....watch the Strand (Stephen King thriller), and kinda just accept what will follow.
The title is actually "The Stand."
“I just hope if I was in such a precarious state of health, I would be more considerate and mindful of other people...”
Ann Barnhardt had some thoughts on that:
http://www.barnhardt.biz/2014/10/02/important-ebola-note/
No standing army with conventional weapons has been able to do to the US what the slow molassis of communism did, to turn the nation into a latrine.
As to the route this fellow took, wouldn't it make sense to ban passengers carrying passports from Ebola hotspots?
The current administration would prefer nonsense, thank you.
Unfortunately, in this instance, I believe Ann has it correct. Certain cultures that start off in ‘nutritional food deserts’ have life styles that do not encourage enterprise of the imagination or independent action will experience a stasis, or paralysis of culture and accomplishment. This will be made worse if they only produce children with a partner who also comes from the same spartan, peripheral type of existence. In short, when little is expected of oneself, often little is accomplished or perceived.
You Ask :”How many more Thomas Duncans are out there, and how many people will have to die before the Administration shuts down the border???”
The Obama asks: “How many more Thomas Duncans am I going to
have to let in to wipe out America and become King of the
wasteland?”
This is not incompetence it’s intentional.
“encourage enterprise of the imagination”
Oh they have imagination all right, ever heard of rapp
music?
What’s really going to shake the tree is when other countries
start banning flights from America because of Ebola. That
will happen, it’s the Obamas plan.
