Remarkable article showing a little insight into the real George Bush. We all know he made mistakes, he probably set back conservatism a few good years, but it is important to know a little bit more about this much maligned man.

Obama makes W look like a genius, a patriot, and a defender of the Republic.

Was he ever asked why he left the party with no one other than the loser John McAmnesty to run for president?

I’ve often wondered why the hell he did that to us.

Bush could have been better, but he is a very good man, and was a fine president. And it's clear that he really likes people.

It is also clear that Obama does not like people -- he's willing to stoop down to the level of others once in a while, but it's not pleasant for him.

Bush was a decent guy. But he was terribly wrong on a number of issues.

He was a big spender.

He gave up too soon on cutting taxes permanently, instead of allowing the tax cuts to be temporary.

He made some foolish mistakes with appointments, and did nothing to clean out all the clintonoids he inherited in his administration.

He was pro-amnesty.

He was far too friendly with Mexico.

He agreed to “free trade” deals that were not really free trade, but simply amounted to shipping most of our industrial jobs abroad, while doing little or nothing to get similar access to the markets in other countries.

He was, to put it briefly, just too damned nice.

My quick review found this: He was candid, but nothing like that first night. His only remark about Barack Obama was, as I recall it, “No matter who wins, when he hears what I hear every morning, it will change him.”

Problem of course, is Obama hasn't heard this every morning - he's apparently too busy with golf and vacation plans and plans to fundamentally transform the world with the magic of his personality.

W reestablished Big Government and boosted the Ruling Class at the expense of everybody not in the Ruling Class. I don’t care what the honorary brother of Bill Clinton told somebody. Actions are louder than words.

I loved the article, & I still love Dubya. Didn’t vote for him the first time, but everybody makes mistakes.

Good article and like many have said... Bush is way better than Obama.

However - Bush is far left for my taste, and I hope he really knows the Lord.

That being said, if Bush really cared he might stand up now and become outspoken how we are in grave danger and admit he made some mistakes. Not to mention what Obama is doing is pure evil to destroy the Country.

And not pimp my liberal brother for potus.

He was a decent man who aspired to be a decent man.

Although I disagreed with him on any number of things I never doubted that he was trying to do the right thing and did so out of love for his country and because he wanted to do right.

Sad to say, you can’t say that about every man to have occupied that office.

Thank you, great article. Bush was honorable, honest, and genuinely loves our country and troops. He is the exact opposite of the slimey toad dictator-wannabe we have in the White House now.

I got to spend an hour and a half with W in 2006 when he invited me and Victor Davis Hanson and three other historians to the White House to discuss war and history.

I knew then he was extremely intelligent and well read.

Bush's biggest weakness, more than his sometimes naivete about the libs, is that he really thinks all people want life to be better for everyone and that all Americans really do love America.

I am convinced that Obama, if he doesn't hate the USA, deeply dislikes it and has done everything he can to make America look like Kenya. Bush simply would not understand that world view.

I am an electronic technician. I have 25 years experience in electronics repair I currently repair and maintenance dialysis machines. I also maintain the water treatment systems for these two clinics that provide treatment for around 40 patients per day. I also inventory and order all supplies for these clinics.

I have to work a second job to pay my monthly bills.

This week I applied for a job, selling snack food, that pays double what I make in the health care industry.

There is something fundamentally flawed in our system.
