DNA testing was inconclusive on soiled diapers thought to have been left by Pennsylvania police ambush suspect Eric Frein, the FBI said Friday.
The diapers had been exposed to the elements, so "you can’t say one way or the other" whether Frein wore them, said Edward Hanko, special agent in charge of the Philadelphia FBI office.
State police announced last week they had discovered diapers in the northeastern Pennsylvania woods where Frein is believed to be hiding, and that he might have worn them so he could remain stationary for long periods of time.

Seriously, I have no more love for criminals than the next guy. But given the number of innocent people cops harm, including that guy stopped for no seat belt and in the Dorner hunt, is there really a difference between them and him? Yes. He isn’t shooting at me because I happen to be driving a pickup truck.
People leave trash all over the place and bears can drag bags of trash and diapers into the woods.
If you haven’t already, check the link I had posted to another article. Cops have no idea what they are doing. They don’t do investigations anymore, they just fish for criminals and hope to get lucky. And if they make a mistake? So what? It’s just a peasant.
It's coming up on the 4th week and we don't know what is truth or fiction. If the diapers may not be his, could it also be that the pipe bomb and other stuff they found are not his as well? Was he interested in "mass shootings" or was it in response to an affair the police officer had?
I say defuse the situation and call off the massive manhunt. Let him slip away. Soon you'll find him working at a car wash in Seattle. That way there will be no fight and no one else gets hurt (police falling out of treestands.)
I don’t get it? He is in the woods he can whip it out anytime he needs to. Why would the police even think he’d be wearing a diaper?

The police line is that he uses the diapers to hunker down for long periods during the day without moving, i.e. if he stood up to ‘go’, he’d risk getting spotted.
