Mayor Lee raises China’s flag despite Hong Kong protests

San Francisco politicians, eager to showcase their democratic credentials in their liberty-loving city, traditionally have not shied from taking stances on human rights, checking in on everything from apartheid in South Africa to Burma’s military junta.

But on Wednesday, as tens of thousands of peaceful democracy demonstrators who had already been tear-gassed marched in Hong Kong, Mayor Ed Lee was on his City Hall balcony hoisting the flag of the target of those protests — the autocratic government of China.

“To be candid, I haven’t studied all of the reason’s why they’re protesting,” Lee said.

It's because they live in a brutal Communist dictatorship that has killed some 100 million of its own citizens in the last 65 years.

A peoples’ desire for the state to respect the sovereignty of the individual confuses leftists. To them it does not compute.

Oh-oh. Mayor Lee is an idiot. No other issue divides Chinatown in SF more than the divide between those who are against mainland China (communist haters) and newly arrived Chinese who support the mainland. He’s in trouble!

HONG KONG: Hundreds of thousands of protesters continue to pack the streets, in the largest anti-Beijing protests since Tiananmen.

The protests were triggered by a Beijing-backed plan to "vet" all candidates in Hong Kong elections, amidst the backdrop of the progressive erosion of democracy in Hong Kong ever since the British handover.

Angered and infuriated by the peaceful crowds, the police have begun to provoke the citizens in apparent attempts to generate a violent reaction.

The Communist Party and it's proxies have remained uniformedly hawkish and uncompromising to the protestors, blocking off coverage of the protests and producing false propaganda to slander them. As the new Chinese leader Xi Ji Ping is still consolidating power, he does not have much room to show "weakness" but backing down on his proposal.

Given the size and makeup of the SF Chinese Community, he’d better hire someone to start his car!

Red China is smart enough to prevent too many images from going out, thus the libs can support them since the world will not see what a brutal dictatorship they have. This is why they HAD to tar our side with fascism even though it aligns with their philosophy; the pictures were seen.
