On the heels of the worst outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease in nearly 40 years and the first case diagnosed in the U.S. fears of the potential spread of the deadly virus through air travel have led to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to issue guidelines on how to deal with Ebola in the air.
The Ebola Virus and its corresponding disease are spread through direct contact with the blood or contaminated bodily fluids of someone who is very sick. Direct contact may include emission of droplets into the air by vomiting or sneezing.
As a result, the cramped confined spaces of an airliner's cabin can become a breeding ground for the virus.

I would get the recommended safety masks and WEAR them - and to hell with what anyone thought.
This gov’t is NOT going to watch out for us.
That’s the worst place to be!
This reminds me of the movie “Flight of the Living Dead”.
Last time I ever flew, I had to sit next to some fat bearded Mideastern guy who mumbled chants and smelled like a campfire...Now we have to worry about some oozing infested Ebola carrier...
I’m cancelling ...
My sister, brother in law, there son, his wife and 5 year old just got back from a cruise a week ago. Only one of them was not sick before getting off the boat and my sister is on 6 meds at this time. My thoughts are I’m not getting on the boat. And as for the dirty UAL aircraft I have worked on that is a trip I’m not going on. (RUN FOREST-RUN)
Three weeks ago, I emailed my son asking him to reconsider his Christmas visit this year. That was even before this Duncan guy showed up in Dallas. This possibility had already been forecasted, and...it just happened.
If I dared go anywhere, I'd wear my N-95 mask as a defense.
How are you going to get it on the plane?
Everyone needs to be cautious what they choose to 'disinfect' with. Most of the sterile wipes, sprays and etc certainly will kill most bacteria...but, will it kill a VIRUS?
Most don't!
I plan on using 90% alcohol...even 70% alcohol does not kill VIRUS. Be careful what you trust.
I think a 1 to 10 solution of water and bleach is also sufficient to kill a virus. Nine cups of water to one cup of bleach.
I cancelled. I decided to just call Aunt Betty this Thanksgiving.
Good!
I think that's wise.
Well idiots, anyone leaving the Hot Zone could “possibly been exposed to Ebola Virus Disease to be kept from boarding”, therefore, all commercial flights should be canceled.
That does not mean no flights, medical flights, medical ships could all be allowed, but commercial flights should be a be NO NO.

Can’t blame you Guenevere, especially with all the illnesses that have been on cruises, imagine Ebola on top of that.
Our opportunity to "contain" ebola has already passed, and the news of yesterday and today is just chock full of failure after failure of government, medical people, and businesses -- all of them making exactly the wrong decisions, and doing the most stupid things in the face of this epidemic.
The doubling time for ebola in Africa has been consistent at about one month over the past six months.
The doubling time in the USA is going to be two or three days, if we are lucky. Half the population could be infected by January.
Omg whoever used the bathroom right after him in the plane was probably contaminated too...wow! That is a very long flight so he must’ve used the bathroom a few times in the Plane and at every airport!! The CDC is lying to us...big time!!! We are so cooked!
Yeah, that's why they quarantine people with no systems. Give me a break.
That was just a guess, but here's the projection with 104 in the initial outbreak, a doubling time of one week:
01-Jan-15 Infected: 103,695,185 Dead: 62,217,111
Flyers guide for ending up on an Ebola plane is put your heard between your kness and KYA goodbye. :-)
